they bug test the demos too Akuma. Even if the rest fo the game is not. Also they look for obscure bugs like running through walls and warping textures from weird angles. Stuff you aren't likely to see with only 30 people playiing for 15 minutes at a time over the course of 3 days.

I know this isn't the topic to go into detail on this, but the only reason I used that as a dig at KZ2 fans, is there is clearly some BS on Sony's part about what stage this game is actually in. If it's set for release in 2008, then the stuff that was shown in E3-2007 couldn't have possibly been in "pre-alpha" stages, the demos shown were far too ahead of themselves to be in any kind of alpha stages. Beta testing would be ongoing, the game and it's content would be finished. On the other hand though, if the game is indeed only in alpha stage as we speak, there isn't a chance in hell of this being released in 2008, or if thats the case and it does get released in 08, you can bet it'll be sloppy and poor because of the rush job. KZ2 has supposedly been in development for at least 2 years now, possibly 3 years, I'm no game developer but surely alpha stuff does not go on THAT long, unless KZ2 is entering the realms of vapourware. Considering the time (and money) gone into this, it should be alot more complete than it supposedly was.

Interesting then to note that the MMO 'The Agency' being developed by Sony is currently about to leave the Pre-Alpha stage and enter the Alpha stage. It has a scheduled release date for 08'. You can see videos of it on GT. It looks just as far along as KZ2 did, when it was shown.
Take into account that KZ2 is using a completely new engine. A deffered rendering engine, this could be the cause of the prolonged Pre-Alpha stage.

Does it not concern you that if this game has only recently entered the alpha stage of development, where content is still being added, that there would be little time for beta testing? For an MMO especially, beta testing should be the most important part of it, content can be added throughout time but if the core functionality of the game is bust, who would want it?

The game looks great, it looks fully playable and fleshed out already, so no, I'm not worried in the slightest.
I was trying to point out though that KZ2 is not unique in it's current development stage to release date plan.
Now both games could be delayed, but as of now, they're both in the same situation. Both Pre-Alpha stage, both planned for a 08' release.
I would be more inclined to believe in the '08' is a unrealistic release date' notion, then 'Sony is lying to make KZ seem even better' idea.
Time will tell.
