Hey snakeboi, you never answered my post. I was wondering why some Indians smell really bad? I was told it is because the of spices and not bathing/showering. I work with a decent amount of Indians at my manufacturing plant and none of them smell. However, every once in awhile I run into an Indian in public that smells like pure funk shit. What is up with that?

its not that they smell bad just for being lower class.but they may carry alot of habits they learnt being lower class india.

That is probably the case.  I believe the ones that smell have a lack of proper hygiene / cleaning techniques.  I noticed the ones that smell usually are darker / more heavily Indian looking.  The darker the skin color probably has nothing to do with it but perhaps more lower class people in India are darker than the upper?  Like I said the ones that take care of themselves don't smell at all but the ones that don't take care of themselves have a really bad body odor.

My perception of modern India is that it's huge, dense, chaotic and poor. India has an interesting history and religion. The people are very nice so something seems to be very good about Indian culture although I haven't quite got a grip on the indian worldview (on one hand indian people seem polite, respectful and well behaved but on the other hand they seem deterministic and not feeling responsibility for their society and kinsmen). My impression of indian immigrants in the Western world is very very good.

wow never thought you'd say that you like immigrants ^^

i've been to some places in india ,I have a habit of not being a "tourist" more that if I travel somewhere I prefer to live among the common people , in a very cheap apartment surrounded by local resorts , rather than fancy resturants and all that.

New Delhi = good , its a tourist heavy place, so you won't get "India" if you just visit that
Delhi = great , very green
Mumbai = a lot of fun in the night especially, I haven't got the chance to visit the historical and tourist stuff though, they looked interesting,
Atari = Awful awful place, most pakistanie people hate indians with passion and vice versa and the place you should just ignore and pass if you plan on traveling , just speed through it

then I've been to a lot of places around Delhi that I don't really remember the names

in general, the poor is poor, and the rich is filthy rich, there is no middle ground here, indians themselves are quite the material type (no offense) so they love money with passion , they'd sell their souls for money, of course I'm not talking about the general people, but the majority.

some stereotypes that I find that are plane bullshit is how filthy indians are, in fact india is very clean they love their soil, and gardening, especially in Delhi, they love raising animals too.

By the way i ALWAYS ride tuk tuks and mini busses (and being squeezed inside with a dozen people) , sure I ran into a lot of trouble being that way, but what is the fun of visitiing a country and going to fancy places that are the same fancy places that you always go to in your homeland?

lmao

india is one of the most racist countries out there

Haha, well i've been to a lot of places, and believe me , every country is racist, everyone is racist and its a normal thing to be racist, everyone can hate others for a reason,as long as that hate doesn't hurt anyone, would you be racist and cause harm to that race? thats another subject.

THEY FOOD WITH THEIR BARE HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats actually arabians not indians, mostly Saudia and the bedouin tribes of the gulf,

and even that they're the very minority who eat with their hands (and on the floor by the way) ,  most are used to spoons.

No a lot of people in the South eat with their hands.

Even in Kerala a developed State, they have this custom of putting food on a big leaf and eating with their hands.

Also its laughable to suggest the British/Western Influence ended after Independence. After being reduced, in the past decade the influence of Western values and ideas is as strong as ever now in India.

I think India was hurt by rather backwards thinking by the govt from the 1960's to the 1990's.

Another sterotype is that Indian men are horny and perverted. Based of living in India and such and being of Indian decent, I think that its somewhat true.

Lol@ blaming the British empire

It's not like India had a choice between British empire or not. The choice was between British or French empire.

Ever wondered how a tiny island "ruled" over 1Bn Indians? India was complicit. They replaced their maharajas with the most powerful maharaja there was. Queen Victoria.

Truth is, the British were the best thing to ever happen to India. Same goes for Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, NZ and the US.

India messed up when they thought having 1000s using old technology instead of 10 using modern tech was good for employement. They rejected freedom and empire instead of just empire.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, suffered more under the rule of the empire than the Brits themselves. Indians were treated no worse than some Britons were.

India hated all aspects of Empire. Even the Brits appreciated the roads that the Roman's built. Instead of digging up the roads and railways, India decided to keep all the good stuff and rip up individual liberty instead. That's why they aren't nor ever will be a 1Bn version of Hong Kong, Singapore, Oz, US.

Not to worry, the youkay is no better. For some reason our politicians think we should be following the Soviets instead of following the system that turned 13 colonies into a hyperpower and turned a wet, craggy, little island into the biggest and best empire the world had ever seen.
