I'm also impressed by how smoothly you can go from the game to the OS to read the manual or whatever and back again. The whole system is really a thing of beauty.

I've been bamboozled!

If they can just sort the whole remote play thing out then I would go out and buy one the next day. Even though the Vita has about 30 or so launch titles they are mostly ports or just garbage games in general. Without access to my old PSP games I am going to need to have something to do with the thing, and remote play would be incredible for me since I am out of the house a decent amount at a university that has pretty decent wifi access all over campus.

If they just sorted out the problems with it I would probably have no reason to even buy Vita games since I could just play PS3 on the go ... maybe that is part of the reason why they are dragging their feet on fully implementing it.

You got me as well! I was like, "crap, maybe it isn't perfect like I thought" haha. Glad you like it. The Vita really does seem like an incredible device. Tempting me to buy my first handheld since elementary school (about 15 yrs ago).

I was under the impression that only certain games were supported at this time. If everything is working fine, and all PS3 games work with it lag free(at least singleplayer ones if nothing else) then I may need to invest in a Vita sooner than I thought.

Is there a list of functional games that work with it now, or is everything compatible and it basically functions as a portable PS3 without lag?

It's probably one of the best designed game systems of all time and easily Sony's best yet. The launch lineup is great and Sony did a lot of things right with the system.

Truth be told I'm a little disappointed, I was truly hoping to see some legitimate criticisms for the system but instead it just gets more praise. Sadface.
