I've been calling all week, and I usually get Wiis by now. Last time someone had any sort of Wiis in stock was Walmart last Sunday.

But ever since Monday, I've been calling Walmart, Target, Toys R us, Best Buy and Gamestop and they haven't had any Wii's at all and it's now Thursday.It's unusual that all of them haven't had any stock for this long. Usually, at least one retailer will have them and the next one will have them not two days later. 

 And I mean call. I call all the Target in my metro area(9 stores) at 9 am, then Walmart(10 stores). I then wait until 10:20 am to start calling Toys R Us(4 stores) and Best Buy(4 stores) and then Gamestop(15 stores). After that, I start with Target, Walmart and the rest. I do this one more time and it will usually be 1 pm by then. 

Gamestop and another store(which I forgot the name of) I called said they won't see them until February.

Any retail person can confirm this? The unnamed store says that Nintendo is clearing thier warehouse of thier holiday supply or something and that that the February shipments should be larger.

 Weird. 

Our last shipment was much smaller, but I have not heard anything about nothing until February.

The reason Gamestop will not be recieving any Wii's until Febuary is because they are doing a raincheck service for people who paid for a Wii in full at all of their stores. All of the January Wii shipments are going towards those customers.

well a they sent a ton to NA and others for the xmas holiday, then they diverted everything to japan for their holiday. now the have to honor all those rainchecks they wrote before xmas. I pretty much expected no shipments to retail until february before the holidays where over.

maybe a bit sooner, it depends on how many rainchecks they sold. i never heard a solid number on that but it's probably enough to account for most of january's supply.

There are no DS's where i'm from in the UK, and i want one :(

Just to add to the pain :D

I thought somebody had said that Nintendo had airfreighted some units in December. Once they would have started shipping by boat again there would necessarily be a week or two with no shipments arriving in the markets.

I just stated why there are none in Gamestop at least..........

One store actually had two shipments where it was already first come first serve.

eBay is your friend! Seriously, you can get a cheap import for less than they cost in the UK and thanks to Fazz I now know that all you need to make them work with a UK power supply is a UK charger which is about £3 off eBay.

I will have a look anyway but last time i bought something from fleabay it was listed as 'new' but was quite clearely used so a bit skeptical now!
