Saw this and just though you guys would be interested. Fake or genuine?

fake id say because ps3 uses nividia which means no backwards compatibility for the ps4 = dooooooooomeeeeedddd!!!!

Would be cool, i like AMD. they arent overly successful these days, nor do they deliver the very best Hardware, but i think they are capable to create nice stuff... look at the 360 GPU, this thing is 7 Years old, and the results arent too shabby. (And, last but not least, AMD might be a financial choice, since they tend to be cheaper in their CPU department, which could lead to give Sony some Chips for a fair ammount of money.)

They didnt have backwards compatability on PS3 unless you had the 60gb maybe theyll do the smae thing with the PS4 and only have 1 backwards compatable version.

True say but they would fill it with the PS4's PSN soon enough. Also not every PS3 user will switch to PS4 straight away, theyll still make a bit more profit from it before it does die

The original Xbox had Nvidia, the Xbox 360 had AMD, the Xbox 360 had backward compatibility.

Most of the studios that created popular games this generation are still around, making software emulation doable.  Granted, it isn't like the Xbox 360 where developers make calls to a hardware independent API, but with the original code, it would be easy for Sony to create a small update to provide software emulation.

That being said, I think Sony will provide backward compatibilty through an add-on piece of hardware.  Sony patented such a device a few years ago, but the connectivity for the module didn't match anything on the PS3.

If Sony drops the Cell, as speculation is it will since IBM stopped development of it, and if this rumor holds true, then no it's unlikely it'll come in the box.

However Sony received a patent for an add-on module that would provide the capabilities of a prior generation console on the current generation.  Basically the CPU and GPU of the older console in a module that connects to the new console.  I think if they offered that for a 1 time price (i.e. no per game fee) then gamers would be happy with it.  For PS3 owners it wouldn't be a big deal, because they already have the PS3.  For those that don't it's the price of admission. 

I think the next generation Xbox will definitely have it.  I don't see Microsoft dropping AMD or IBM as their GPU and CPU source.
