Haven't found anything out yet, thankfully. Would be good to see the old squad members returning though, Thane and Legion are my favourite ones by far.

I bet anything that at least Legion will have a very important development on ME3 if you recruited him and did his loyalty mission. Hope we can get the Geth to fight at our side against the reapers, though something tells me we won't have the possibility of having both the Geth and the Quarian, but hopefully I'm wrong xD.

With or without the dlc this game will be one of the better buys of 2012 and probably compete for goty on most sites. There are dozens of AAA games that don't provide half the value in $/hr or in quality.

I tend to give BioWare the credit for everything good about the IP and blame EA for things like this obvious money grab. There has to be some limit to what we get for $59.99 or equivalent. They're not going to sell 10m copies like ESV and EA is still bleeding red ink.

Don't let this ruin your enjoyment of a great game. I should probably avoid the forums for a couple of weeks like Munkeh111.

I totally agree, the fact that there is probably 30 hours of SP (plus extra playthroughs) and MP means that can charage extra for bonus stuff, they need more money to keep making games like this (assuming it is as good as I expect)

^^^ This could be very close to my ideal game. EA forced them to cut corners and cash in on Dragon Age II and the result was kind of disappointing. This is BioWare's A team on this project. I hope the Kingdom of Amalur IP is an indication that Dr. Ray is having a positive affect as head of EA's role-playing division.

On the OP I never play as femshep. Maybe if Jennifer Hale had used that cultured British accent from KOTOR. There's nothing sexier. Then again I don't want my character to sound sexy. Do I? Nuff said. There are plenty of attractive fems in this series.

Well, for all we know, that could be just PR talk to avoid the backlash that this has caused, but it could also be the truth.

Either way, they did the same with the Zaeed DLC on ME2 and it was available for everyone with a new copy of ME2, so I don't see why they went the dick move strategy of putting the From Ashes DLC just for the CE. In any case, Day 1 DLC is simply a money-grabbing scheme, even if it is only a way to maximize their profits, especially since there will be a truckload of DLC coming for ME3 in the future (just look at the history of recent Bioware releases).

I'm not arguing that at all. I'm just saying big publishers like EA, Activision, Square, Ubisoft etc. Are going to to keep pushing this boundary as long as its working them financially.

It's just a bit unfortunate, because even though I like for instance Mass Effect, Deus Ex and Final Fantasy more than most games. The DLC makes the games feel not completely put together, despite being longer and longer and better than other games. They just feel like they would be a bit better if they just finished a cohesive version instead of "lets put this in DLC later" mentallity. But, what can ya do.

ME2 lasted about 30 hours then was boring. for $60 i rather buy something that will last a decent amount of time, this means if ME3 is as long as ME2 which was 2 disks i would need a new game in less then a week. BS.

What you should be asking is, why are they not putting the Prothean squad member/mission on the disc and why is it launch DLC. BioWare and EA really suck balls.

It's been confirmed that the Prothean isn't a squad member, they are an unlockable NPC. Still lame but not that big a deal.

how long should it last?? 700hours??

ME2 was extremly replayable, and it had the best DLC ever (lair of the shadow broker).

If you play the game 2times trough and download all of the DLC it should keep you about 80 hours busy. It kept me about 1 month to play all that stuf trough.

I was a huge ME fan but ME2 was such a dissapointment in terms of story and RPG elements, I felt cheated after playing it. I made a choice not to purchase ME3 at launch and was going to wait till it hit the reduced price point, but after playing the demo and now the ridiculous DLC move by EA/Bioware they have completely lost me as a customer.

Where did you read that? On the social bioware forum, michael gamble of Bioware confirmed that it was indeed a squad member: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/9403705/1
