That sounds awesome, especially if it comes to Vita! Would I need to play the first one to get into? Does 999 leave in a cliff hanger or something?

Not really and for what i saw, the characters and story are all-new. Altough I really recommend you to play the first game since the endings are really something.

If I still had my DS, I would buy it, but sadly I lost it about 2 years ago.

I enjoyed the DS game but never fisished it :(
I think I might go back and play it.

Is 999 worth getting? I've heard a lot of things about it- isn't it Japan only though? I can't read Japanese :((((

It saw a US release as well, it just missed out on Europe and Australia.  Thanks to DS games being region free, it can be played on a U.K DS/3DS.  Amazon U.K have new copies for just under £30, it seems it's not exactly a rare game.

Standard NoE stuff then

PS. Was it you that I saw who mentioned the E-Card Reader? I thought it was only me that wished that it was released over here lol- I remember reading about it in Pokemon World magazine, but I never managed to get one.. only about a year ago I found out that it never released :S

Yeah that was me, about 9 or 10 years ago I eargerly anticipated the U.K release for the E-Card Reader after reading about in places like NOM and Pokemon World and having loads of compatible Pokemon cards.  In the end, I took advantage of the fact that my Uncle often goes on business to the US and asked him to get one for me and I'll pay him when he got back.  I've still got mine back at home and althought it's use was limited by only about 5 or 6 Pokemon TCG sets using it, I used it lot back around the 2002-3 period.
