I know that for some other nations it is worse, but look at where the OP is from. I am just saying that things aren't as bad as he makes it seem.

The OP is KylieDog. By now you should be used to it.

I guess...

Why is this surprising? We always get the worst deals in Europe, yet Europe is now the biggest user base for ps3. Games always released last here, high prices, far fewer great deals than America.. :( SCEE get your act together!

Why cant all you EU guys just order off US PSN? Im sure when EU sells nosedive and US rises, they will get the point...or lock you out.

They have effectively locked people out.

It's the same for PS3. I think it comes down to credit cards and that PSN can't autheticate an EU credit card with USA store and stuff. Security protect and all that. IT's not too hard to just buy a PSN code off of USA ebay via paypal - get it emailed to you - and use that for PSN store credit in the USA. Few mates did it for Socom Confrontation DLC.

What is not simple about it?

- Sony claimed digital would be cheaper than retail, it is on average 17% more expensive instead.
- On PS3, £40 game in UK is $60 in US.  On Vita £40 is (and it seems US changed numbers since last check) $45.

On the issue of taxes on the second point, any additional US tax is moot, since it applies to both the $45 and $60 figures, fact is, top end Vita games same price as PS3 games in UK, $15 cheaper in US.  Why is there no price difference in UK?  That $15 is about £10, so top end Vita games should be about £30.

I already said that you are getting screwed on digital prices, as are we, especially on PSP game prices. I have already posted about it in the official thread.

As for the rest of your post, I was referring to your retail prices. There are many times when you pay less and you start paying less a lot sooner than we do in the US. As for you saying tax is moot, if a game costs you $50 Euro, you end up paying ~$66 US. In the US, if a game is $60, I end up paying $65. I was just saying that in the case of retail I don't understand this idea that you are getting screwed.

It wasn't aimed at you per say, it was only to show the fallacy with the idea that people in EU (Notably the UK) pay more for everything when compared to the US.

No it is not.  PS3 supports multiple users with no drawbacks, downloaded content can be shared across all accounts on the PS3.

On VIta each user requires their own memory card, to switch between PSN accounts you need factory reset the Vita system, content cannot be shared between accounts in any way whatsoever, so no buying on a US account and playing on a UK account for example, like you can do with PS3.

Yeah but my point was just you can't buy stuff on the USA PSN account anyway - unless you did the ebay thing I said. And I don't think content on the Vita is locked so you could still do the ebay thing on a USA account, put it on your memory card and play it (Because the console is region free).

God knows why you'd want to anyway, it'll be cheaper from UK retail lol.

No one cares about RRP in UK, RRP in UK is just something retailers use to say "Look you're saving money" and has very little basis on the actual price.

For the sake of your arguement you have to consider it.

US price of $60 for a game includes no tax as a RRP. UK it's £50 for most game which includes tax of 20%, minus that VAT it's £40, convert that to $ it's currently in exchange rate is $63. Our UK companies would not sell at game for £50 they know this is too much for competative sake.

Based on your opening post I see nothing wrong, you price hunted and found the best deal. For every shop that sticks close to the RRP (or the one they really use £40), there will be a shop listing it for for £30.

What PSN is doing is listing the fair priced based on the RRP. Even PSN isn't hitting the RRP of Uncharted which is £45.

Hmm, pie.

Haven't looked into it yet, but is it possible to download things from a US/JPN account on your PS3 and then log into your EU account on PS3 and transfer it to your Vita with it's EU account?

Has anyone tried this?

If you live in SCEE territories please ignore it and let this thing bomb, you are doing yourself a massive favour.

You don't need to tell me. That was my plan all along.

But seriously, the prices for downloadable games are outrageous. Isn't the retailer cut usually about $10? Sony is just being greedy here.

I think this is the first time I read in a post with Sony and Greedy in the same sentence , unless there's a 'not as' in between

Edit: lol I almost forgot about the get a second job thing lol,

Apple is paying them to make the Vita bomb?

OT: Good job Sony!
