E3 2009: Sony shows a gamplay trailer for The Last Guardian

E3 2010: Sony says that Team Ico are working on The Last Guardian

E3 2011: Sony slyly pulls The Last Guardian off an E3 showing

E3 2012: Sony and Team Ico annouce The Last Guardian

Seems like the next logical step don't you think?

Huh? It was announced in 09 no?

Read the events in reverse order and you will see that I was trying to convey wit. I should have probably added E3 2008: Sony announces release date for The Last Guardian, but 3 years is just to short for a development cycle of a game.
