If average price was 5$ that would be over 2 milions of downloads during half a year on a userbase that started at around 5-6 millions when shop was introduced and reached 14-15 at end of year.

April - December, they gave a frame, not a month. They also expect losses next Q.
But yes, Nintendo will very likely profit next gen, this is the first year they're ever going to make a loss though.
$11 million doesn't seem like a lot to me... Anyway, the shop on my DS is horrendous, maybe if they upgraded that a little, sales would be higher.

Just downloaded Sakurai Samurai. First game I've purchased from the e-shop since getting my 3DS early last year. (My 20 ambassador games dont count) Reminds me of punch out with a samurai sword which is a good thing.

Well personally that is great news though I think Nintendo needs more 3DSWare to be more successful. Nintendo needs to increase its content. I do not see prices as unreasonable for VC or 3DSWare I would get if Nintendo could get more new 3D content Nintendo would see more success.
With Nintendo Network I am betting the MMO's like the one from Ubisoft and possible the old republic I am betting Nintendo gets a cut. With DLC now in the works from Nintendo your going to see Nintendo's online revenue grow nonstop.

Nintendo have to offer a more equitable profit share with devs. than what Apple are prepared to offer.
Its obvious that if they push for more exclusives, they can certainly sell the exact same types of games as iOS. Just look at the sales of Plants Vs Zombies on DS last year.
