Links Awakening DX made $2.3 million.

Drop the price of games Nintendo, you'll double or triple your sales.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

While dropping the price might increase their sales, they do need to make sure that will enable them to actually make more money. Higher sales with a lower price doesn't necessarily mean more profit.

Regardless, I think this is interesting news. Relatively speaking, they are just getting into the whole online sales, and any income will help a company such as them that is expected to post a large loss for their fiscal year in April.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Their losses are already past.  They took the big hit sin Q1 and Q2.  Q3 already took them back to qaurterly profits and Q4 should stay that course....though not enough to overcome the looses acquired in the first half (75% attributed to the Yen appreciation).

$11 million at this early juncture for the 3DS is pretty good.   As the system ages, that will easily grow multiple times that.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

That is quite a good accomplishment! I just wish Nintendo would include some type of information on which ones sold and how much. At least a chart of Top 10 eShop Sellers.

damn, it sold that well and Eshop is a fn mess. Just imagine if Eshop was well organized

3ds begins profiting in april so 2nd poster you sir would be wrong about losses they already posted their loss and you have to account for R & D for wii u and 3ds in those losses as well as the yen problem and such

nintendo is known for profiting every gen and the next gen will be no different

Organization was the problem with the Wii Shop Channel. With everything being several clicks away from the front-screen (except for "New Releases" it was nigh-impossible for the shop channel to promote anything

The chaos of the e-Shop can be a little daunting, but at the same time it is constantly throwing names and pictures of things at you, stuff to catch your eye, and rather odd categorizations for different goods that allows you to find different games grouped in different ways.

They need to bring order to the system while retaining that chaos, ideally.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I thought they already listed the top eShop selers every week, I always see them being posted on GoNintendo.

They do? I thought Nintendo didn't publish sales of their eShop and WiiWare developer sales.

That's awesome, just need some more games for me to bite though, maybe DS classics one day.
