music industry and hollywood cashing in again on famous dead celebrities. people die all the time and it amazes me such a big deal is made out of famous dead celebrities.
even amy winehouse received a big boost in her album sales after her shock sudden death. amy winehouse was a one-hit wonder, ironically with the hit-song: Rehab.
houston had a number of hits and was a huge star in the mid 1980s through the 1990s. the last decade of her life was clouded by drug/alcohol/substance abuse.
People pirate because they dont want to pay at all. Sony raising the price isnt going to create more pirates than Apple's Itunes already has.
And in comes the Sony hate thread.
While its kinda fucked up, doesn't really bother me. She's dead, not like she needs the money or royalties or whatever.
Yes, Sony is, I saw today on news that her album sales growth 300% in my country.
Sony is cashing in on the sympathy of people. Young people may never have heard of her hit songs from the 1980s/1990s.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
This reminds me of when Syd Barrett died. The morning he died I remember having an hour to kill between 9-10am, so I went round the music shops in town (these were the days before downloads) and each one had latched onto his death immediately by placing Pink Floyd CDs everywhere around the store. He died only a few hours before they opened, I was both impressed and sickened by the response time the stores could manage.
