Ya the amount of cars lost early in the race made the proceedings quite dull.

And wtf has Renault done? lol
They seem to have regressed this season rather than take a step forward. Pretty ironic how poor their new engines have been considering they threatened to quit the sport if they weren't implemented

Surely the first person out would be Bottas, Magunssen and Kvyat? Technically Bottas never raced and wasn't classified, so that would be Magnussena and Kyvat. I think that has to be the best result.

Overall a good race. Quite a bit of attrition but you have to expect that. A little sad that they aren't going to give Suzie a drive though, but ah well.

I was very disappointed this morning when I read they wouldn't give her a shot even if Bottas can't drive next week. I expected better from Williams

Pretty much. It makes more sense not letting her race in this grand prix; what with not taking part in practice or quali. But next race? Where's the excuse?

Ya apparently the rule is that you can't replace a driver for a race unless the replacement driver has participated in at least one practice that week. Didn't know that before, so they couldn't race her this week.

But if Bottas is still unfit for the next GP, not that I don't wish him a speedy recovery, then there's no excuse for not racing Wolff. Williams doesn't have an officially designated replacement driver, and Wolff is far more qualified to jump in than their development driver.

Crap. Forgot about this. I'll catch up though, I'm sure.

Malaysia:

1. Ham
2. Ros
3. Vet
DNF. Button

What a great start to the season. Mercs running over the top of everyone and everyone else behind them are having issues... well except Sauber, those guys would be partying. Seriously though Williams, RBR and Ferrari all with just 1 racer across the finish line. McLaren are a joke after being a top team just a few years back.
Dissapointing to see Verstappen have car issues in his first race, on the opposite obviously Nasr had the best start to his career.
Oh and can anybody explain why Button, Alonso and Mag are all signed with McLaren??

They were only a top team because Hamilton dragged them kicking and screaming to decency, I don't think that it's any surprise that they're again struggling for the 3rd year since Hamilton left.

What a joke at all the retirements, we've had these rules for a year now guys, I mean FFS come on.

Shame for Raikonen, he looked seriously quick this weekend, and had he not made a mistake in the first sector in Quali he would have been comfortably starting from 3rd. You'd think after all the problems in recent years with wheels and whatnot team would have gotten them nailed, to fuck up twice is pathetic.

Exact words I said to my friend after we left the race. Too many teams retired. Sure, Honda is a bit behind but at least there were there. Maurissa didn't even show up because they weren't ready.

Ferrari pitstop, LOL... Poor Iceman. We did the pitstop challange and it took us 12 seconds each or so to swap a tyre with no help. Slow, sure. At least we did it right! Give us a damn job Ferrari!

For the first race of the season, it sends a bad message to fans. Imagine people watching this for the first time? Viewership has been going down in recent years, this shit won't help!

One thing I will say though is that tyres seem a lot more reliable from what I could tell.
