To be honest, I agree that the safety car should have been thrown out earlier. But then again, I also think the race should have started at say 1 rather than 3, and perhaps even the race should have restarted after the red flag sooner, then perhaps this wouldn't have happened.

But on the flipside this is what you call a "freak accident". Had that tyre hit Max Chilton in Britain, for example, or the spring which hit Massa in '09. It's just really bad luck.

Bianchi is apparently out of hospital and breathing on his own. So, it's looking like it might not be life-threatening at the very least.

No mess up. There were double yellows out at the spot. No idea how he could have flown off there after. They didn't show it at all either so that gif is the first I've really seen of it

Yes it's from the amateur video, the news are saying that Bianchi is in a stable but critical state.

The flag turned green 10 sec before the accident because the truck wasn't anymore in the zone marked by the poste 12.

yes obviously some sport media trying to blame everyone with the flags for their stories

bianchi is going fast isn't he,must be so unlucky to go off at that exact spot,i can't see the bend or the track so don't know what it is

wonder if they know anything from his radio to the team,it is amazing that didn't kill him instantly
