No, at the moment it is not possible to collect the energy from a nuclear blast an make electricity with it. The explosion itself is already incredibly destructive and thus the yield would have to be incredibly tiny (less than a ton or 0.001 KT of TNT equivalent I'd surmise). Let's not even get into the radiative output of a supercitical mass of SNM.

The current method of energy production from nuclear fission fuel is the basic boiler-turbine design. It's still pretty limited though.

I wouldn't say I hate Ireland but your country really should have just stayed within the Viking Empire...  and your country should have supported Germany more during WW1.  Also, your country could make a better beer like the Germans.  At least you don't have a terrible selection such as the English and American brews (good thing there is a micro brew movement in USA cause almost all the top selling beers are piss).

I understand all that moko-jumbo stuff you're saying I do, but all I said in my original comment was they could be developing a cheaper form of energy. Nuclear power is cost competitive with other forms of electricity generation.
