Well the sales are going to decline, but there are still some great games coming out this year which I am really looking for

This gen isn't dead till all 3 systems are no longer produced. Gen 6 is still going thanks to Sony, although games aren't be made for it any longer. So Next gen will start, and the PS2 crowed will finally move on the PS3/360, the core will buy the new systems first. Leading everyone to think that Gen 8 is dead on arrival because Ps3 and 360 will out sell their replacements first year on the market. Doom articles all over the internet. Iphone killed console gaming ect ect....

Wii is practically dead but the HD brothers are still very much alive and each will see sales of around 12 million units this year and for software 2012 is one of the strongest in the whole generation.

Also it's almost another two years until the successors of PS360 are even released, let alone have any significant sales to speak of. The majority of us here on the forums won't own a next generation console even three years from today.

Sales always take a nose dive after the holidays. And besides, good games are just starting to be released this month.

im glad this gen will be over. here is to hoping microsoft buries themselves with their new console, and a new generation of nintendomination :)

SSX, GTA V, Bioshock Infinite, The Last Story (in EU), Mass Effect 3, The Last Guardian, The Last Of Us.
I guess this gen is not dead yet.

Going to take a lot more than a failed console for Microsoft to bury itself....

As much as I hate to say it, you can add one more CoD to that list...

Borderlands 2 should do fairly well too...

excuse me, what i mean to say is that i just hope they get out of the industry. i dont want them to go out of business, i just want them to stay out of a business that they dont do anything positive for.
