Forums - Gaming Discussion - GTA4 on the XBOX 360?

I just hope they eventually release a Wii version of the game.

Nintendo still doomed?

If it was a HDD problem then why was the 360 version always the one that was shown to the gaming press whenever they demoed the game (showing the player getting missions, driving through town, going up buildings, etc)?

My guess is that both versions of the game were very unpolished with bugs galore and poor framerates.

@legend

I agree, didnt you see the latest trailor the FR was bad.

Somehow I get the feeling that Grand Theft Auto 4 will require a hard drive. Don't know why, but the whole streaming a living city kind of feeling is pointing me towards this.

Also, with the delay of 6 months for the game to allow more Premium and Elite models in houses then Core.

What's your thoughts and opinions?

Microsoft wouldn't allow that to happen. From the moment that they decided to have a model without a HDD, they must have made it a rule that no game shall require the presence of a HDD.

I think MicroSoft wants the core-buyers to buy another xbox ( premium or elite )

All you need to do to get the experience is buy a hard drive.  $100 and you have the ability to do all the full game experience.  That's all a user has to do to download content, take advantage of the HDD and be able to use Marketplace to its fullest.  This puts you at almost the same cost as a premium but you didn't have to buy the full thing up front.  Unfortunately, you still don't have a component video connection and the free games are different, but you have to reward people who pay the full price up front.

Microsoft says no for the HDD, but then again everyone lies. And if it comes down to either having R* make an inferior version for the 360 or using the HDD then i'm sure MS will let them use the HDD.

"Delaystation"- lol, never heard that one, it's actually funny.

I agree with others here who say that GTA4 requiring a HDD is highly unlikely. MS would just not allow this. However, it's not completely out of the question. Nintendo required you to buy the RAM upgrade to play Majora's Mask.

Can you attach any external hard drive to the 360? If not, MS could possibly start selling a proprietary HDD if enough developers make enough noise about this issue (if it's an issue at all).

===> I even add that the PS3 was never show and supposed to be "2 weeks late"
it is a bit strange : a 2 weeks late developpment ....

Time will tell

I believe you can, but only for things like media (music, videos, pictures) viewing.

You know, why make a proprietary external HDD when they already have a proprietary internal HDD? All they have to do is lower the damn price of their HDD's and you'd be set. $100 for 20gb's is insane, especially when I see $180 for 120gb's.

well rockstar has stated the game will have no loading like burnout so i assume Hardrive will be needed.
