Uh, yeah they do. I've seen it several times how they boost when there's no boost-thingy around. And GX is way easier than X.

I highly doubt it. You can tell by the color and the size of the flames that come out of the vehicles whether they are using a boost or not. You probably only have seen vehicles that sped up unusually high, but that can happen when a vehicle is hit by another at a specific angle. But thinking it over, I do have doubts that it's easy to get into a top 5 position within the first lap on master difficulty. Not because the AI cheats, but because it goes at roughly the same speed as the player.

And GX is not easier than X.

While that may be true (still doubt it, happened a few times when I was at 29th place), you still can't deny that the rival or "supposed rival" always drives way faster than the other AIs even during the first lap (although the same thing can be said about the cheap Mario Kart AIs)

If GX is harder for you. you obviously never tried Wild Goose... and it's still easier with any of the other guys except Silver Rat.

Of course, the rival is assigned with a more aggressive AI, otherwise there wouldn't be much of a challenge to win the Grand Prix. There are 30 contenders, after all. If their result would always be all over the place, you could win with 300 something points without ever pushing anyone off the track or into the rails.

Wild Goose is one of the worst vehicles in GX. Now I know that you were joking.

The F-Zero GX AIs are way more balanced and "all over the place", thus one of the reason for it to be easier than X, with the other reason being the fair first laps.

Wild Goose is the only racer who can pull off 10 boosts without any regeneration. That's extremely beneficial compared to the more common 5-7 numbers

Edit: And it turns extremely well on top of it. He's just a sucky spinning AI.

Getting the platinum trophy in Demon's souls....hardcore.

Well, that is true. The GX AI is more all over the place, so you don't need to have that high of a total score.

Wild Goose tops out at around 1500 kph though, over 100 kph lower than the average. The common number of boosts would be seven to eight, there's no vehicle that only has five. The way Wild Goose turns is awkward, something about it always seemed off. It doesn't handle like other vehicles at all.

The slow speed is compensated by the high amount of boosts. Both Fat Shark and Crazy Bear (I'm sure I'm forgetting/not aware of a few others) are extremely close to having only 5 boosts, one hit in the wall at high speed and they're dead after five.

After mastering Wild Goose's "awkward" turning manner you'll find it very effective in tight turns and in combination with boosting, giving a feel similar to snaking.

Time for hype

1) I got a 9999 VR on Mario Kart Wii on 4 different profiles, beat Rol approximately 1 out 3 times at this game, and actually have a couple of time trials faster than TWRoO.

2) I bowled a 299 in Wii Sports Bowling.

That's amazing! You should do a thread about it!

I don't see the appeal of such a thread.

You should make a thread called "The Patriots just might win the Super Bowl" though. For obvious reasons.

No, that would be a waste of time.

I was actually planning on writing one about the Packers if they got this far.
