I think some of you are too quick to judge and think that what happens in Japan happens WW too. Let's not forgot huge games such as CoD, AC coming to Vita. If they pull it off right, they could provide a massive boost for the Vita

Console experience on portable is what failed the PSP against the DS.

Nope, lack of huge games did. It's not that people don't want to play "console-like" games, it's more that the games weren't popular enough. Are Mario Kart and SM3DLand not console like experiences, for example? Are they not very very similar to Wii/gamecube games?

No, you're using wrong examples. MK7 works nicely on home/portable consoles.

3DLand is designed specifically for the 3DS, that's a horrible example to pick. LOL.

The NSMB/3D Series and MK Series are perfect for either handheld or home console. They are both very easy to control and very fun.

OT: That is almost impossible. The VITA will most likely end up like the PSP. Not a total failure but no where near what the DS had sales wise. The VIT A will have some good games but it's lost many exclusives. For one a main series KH game is coming to the 3DS and a MH already has come to the 3DS and another is on it's way. The VITA has just lost out on many things that the DS Family has gained since last gen.

The VITA will not be able to compete with the 3DS, it's not going to totally fail but it's not going to win.

And for the record I don't completely agree with the article but I think some of you are going overboard with the doom calling

If that's pointed at me, then you're wrong again. I have not doomed it nor want it to doom.

Nintendo needed to be kept on its toes with fierce competition.

I think that was a general comment.

even Sony would think twice to say it loud.

Even if I didn't have a 3ds, I would be forced to buy one when MH4 hits.  Tri is so awesome I can't wait for 4 on 3ds (though I'd be lying id I didn't admit I'd love a Wii successor version as well, so I could play it on the big screen, save, take it with me wherever I go, save, rinse...repeat.  Thankfully with titles like RE:R, street Fighter, 3dland and mk7 (and the ambassador games) I feel like I've already gotten good return on my investment.

I refuse to diss on vita because it will be a quality machine with quality games....but all the people trying to crap on 3ds because of their need of bias towards sony are going out of their way to do so and aren't seeing the big picture.  Trying to discredit the 3ds is just silly, it's going to be a force to be reckoned with, i'm sure.

This isn`t the type of article that better explains the strengths of Vita.
I do think Vita has potential in it and i believe that it will do better in US and Europe, it`s just that, to me, Sony waited too long to release Vita and that gave Nintendo not only time to correct some of it`s mistakes with 3DS, it gave them time to build momentum and start to grow a (15 million) fanbase. And while Sony will be busy correcting it`s mistakes (lack of software that truly stands out), 3DS will be putting out great games and even a 2D Mario (=lots of sales).
As much as i want for Vita to do well, Sony does have an uphill battle to fight.

Still think Nintendo pulled a fast one on Sony by dropping the price so soon... People expect it will happen to the Vita too thus making people hesitant of buying it..

Yeah but I think it'll have much broader repercussions and all 8th gen hardware will suffer from it.

Here are the RPGs (that have been fully announced- i.e. screenshots, gameplay vids shown) that I want on both systems atm ;p

3DS
-Kingdom Hearts 3D
-Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overlocked
-Paper Mario
-Bravery Default

Vita
-Dragon's Crown
-Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4
-Disgaea 3
-Tales of Innocence R (T.T hope it comes out in US)
-Ragnarok Odyssey
-Ys Celceta no Jukai (hope it comes out in US like the rest T.T)

Edit: Cant wait to see what GDC and E3 will reveal in future games!

If those japanese only games come out in Europe, I'll just import them since PSVita is region free.

I was meant from what we have so far the 3DS has major potential.
