First things first, Mr. Iwata has announced that the Wii U will release before Christmas of this year. This was already expected but it is a nice conformation.

Second, Mr. Iwata also said more things about Nintendo Network:

"for the Wii U, we are planning to introduce a personal account system compatible with Nintendo Network. With this, for example, the ease of using a video game system when the hardware is shared by multiple family members, which has been a challenge we needed to tackle, shall be improved, and we will also be able to construct and offer the system by combining a variety of different services and content."

Very good news! It shows that Nintendo do, indeed, want to get into the Online business.

One last Thing! According to CVG, "serious discussions are ongoing at the highest level [at Nintendo] in the US and Japan as to whether the firm should cut its losses and give [the Wii U] a different name." This makes sense because many people didn't even like the Wii U name.

I hope this means that Virtual Console titles can also be shared between 3DS and WiiU. (as long as it's possible to play the games in question button-layout-wise)

As do I. Some consumers might confuse it with the Wii though... I don't know how... Kind of like they did with the 3DS and DS. XD

Best thing I heard in a long time is that they're gonna change the Wii U's name.

I've grown accustomed to the Wii U name.

Well, if they change it, then it better be damn good.

It don't need a name change. Like the Wii. I remember a bunch of people talking about it. And today, Wii is a sucess. The "Wii" name is strong on the market.
