Forums - Gaming Discussion - Tomb Raider Reboot Gets The M Rating. . . Yes!

In the Q & A session with Global Brand Manager Charles Stewart said this, why do you specifically seeking the rather infamous USK 18 rating.

"In the very early concept phase of the re-interpretation of Tomb Raider was clear that we would have to slow down the experience, Lara goes through, to a T-rated game needs. It played down the issue, which we felt to deliver a new experience, "said Stewart.

"We took some time and we decided in an M-rated room to move. If we did not do the players feel the game would be too soft and light and would not be credible. It was a difficult decision because there are many things to consider are, including the age of our fans, partners with whom we work and the times when one can join the game. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but we believe that it was the right decision. "

I have to be honest I have never played any of the tomb raider games are they any good just wondering ?

YES?!
Okay, I got why a M rating in The Last of Us is better, but will Tomb Raider really be better if there's more gore and nudity?

So going above and beyond uncharted or is it because Lara will be naked at some point(s)?

i never really cared for gore and nudity in games or movies im never ever scared or amazed by excessive gore, its the more freedom in story telling and thematic scenes its kinda like some of the best horror movies dont have much gore in em

a M or R rating doenst mean just blood and guts

i like how games like this and TLOU are going out there way to incorporate a Mature story im tired of all this Teenibober stuff, the original gamers that enjoyed the TR games from the 90s are well past there teens by now, the same should be said for uncharted if it continues next gen

its because they want show lara being brutally killed. Why this developer thinks we want to see an Icon like Lara having her skull smashed is beyond me.

Do we need to have the discussion of why an M-rating shouldn't be praiseworthy in and of itself again? Gameplay is tantamount, and that is one element where rating is entirely irrelevant.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yeah give us some fan service. And dont worry about your fans, most of them are probably 18+ from the PS1 era.

Woot!

*Hopes for the unlikely event of LC nudity ingame*

And if that doesn't happen, someone will pc mod it to include it anyway.

Seriously though, if this makes the game better, I'm happy.
