Forums - Nintendo Discussion - GamrConnect 3DS Recommendation Thread

Hey you guys, wanna help me out? I'm looking for good 3rd party games for my 3DS, but I haven't seen any that's caught my eye. Do you have any recommendations? Please quote me so that I know if/when you're talking with me =)

Resident Evil: Revelations is one of the best games on the system, first party included. Great single player (I'd argue it's better than RE5 and 6), great multiplayer (online Raid mode is addictive and fun with a friend), and great use of the 3DS' abilities (Nice use of 3D, uses the Play Coins to purchase weapons).

I really enjoyed Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate as well. It's a 2D Action game, but the combat mechanics are more like GoW and LoS than a traditional 'Vania game. Still, there's lots of secrets to find and areas to explore, and the game has some wonderful art direction (I am a sucker for Gothic Horror tropes so I may be somewhat biased... ). There's a demo out so I'd say to give it a go.

I've heard great things about the Layton games (Adventure Puzzle) and Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies (Adventure). I'll pick up the latter once I get the Ace Attorney Trilogy.

Classic Final Fantasy fans really enjoyed Bravely Default. I hear the demo's very robust (and you can transfer the data when you get the game). SMT fans really loved IV as well.

Also added a few games:

  • Inazuma Eleven Go: Light/Shadow (Sports) added!
  • Aban Hawkins and the 1001 Spikes (eShop Platform) added!

Summer droughts are tough, but the 3DS has been hit especially hard. Still, there's a few games worth your attention!

  • One Piece: Unlimtied World Red (Action) added!
  • Siesta Fiesta (eShop Action) added!
  • Steel Empire (eShop Shooter/Flight) added!

@Korsu

I love you too!

Don't forget to pick up Apollo Justice (Ace Attorney 4) too, then, as that takes place after the original three games in the trilogy, and before Dual Destinies - it's essential to properly understanding things in DD!
