It would be great if there was a vgchartz app because currently you cant view the forum buddy from an ipod/ipad and the sales articles/archive are very difficult to navigate. Also, you cant post comments from an ipod/ipad because the safari crashes for some reason (maybe that is just me?) There could be an app for the sales side of vgchartz and another separate one for the forum (is that happening to the main site anyway?), it would be great and you could also charge for them - i would buy them anyway.

yeah an app would make it much easier. Still too much traffic to browse the site with a mobile device.

traffic = money.... apps = lost traffic

Apps can contain advertisements too though. Oh, and the vgchartz app ads could also be pop-up and invasive, along with normal (non-pop-up) ads. Then ioi could sell something like 'vgchartz gold subscription' for those who dont want to be constantly annoyed by pop-up ads, but there would still be the normal ads! Therefore getting even more money!

I already made a thread about this approximately one year ago. The response from most was that it would take valuable resources away from further developing the site. Given the size and scope of VGChartz it isn't feasible unless they go public.

I would estimate a good app for a site like this would be more then 20.000 euros.. with all the functions, forum stuff easily more then 200 hours at a 100 euro per hour pay rate...

Well we could at least have a mobile version.

I have to agree an app would be great with the sales DRS and forum so you can post aswell. I'd even be willing to pay for it aswell asking as its just a one off charge.
