I'm pretty sure we all know that interactive cutscenes mean either quick time events or you can walk around lol. If it's just gameplay well then it's not a cutscene is it.

I like the fact that the same studio is now ALSO doing the FFX remake. I guess they were working too fast on FF Versus XIII?I mean I thought the studio handling FFV13 are basically the A-team. The highest order studio. Well in that case why do you need them for a remake? The games already there, it just needs tarting up.

I still maintain that this game could have the same problem as FF12 where it is hugely under-appreciated. I mean if it doesn't make it out this year well then we have the Wii U, so already there is more powerful hardware out with better graphics. If it doesn't make it out early next year then suddenly we have the Xbox next and possibly PS4. We all know that graphics help draw attention to a game and that when new hardware is out a reasonable amount of focus switches to the games on that platform. It risks getting lost in the launch hype for other consoles. Not to mention that after 6 years of being announced.... well hype kinda grows thin.



Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

I still think a 2012 release in Japan isn't out of the question.

Well, at least in FFXIII the time to complete the ATb bar is always the same. That means that when you have 6 atb, each atb completes very fast.

The times of the traditional RPG that tells the story through detailed cut scenes is pretty much over. We're at a point now where games let you actually do the fantastical things they do in the cut scenes but can't do in the actual game but SE just stubbornly refuses to move on. Instead they announce a game with a CG trailer and then sit on it for five years.

I love cutscenes too, the more CGI the better, that is if Square Enix mean pre-rendered as in CGI pre-rendered. Hopefully the story will be able to match the visual presentation.

As for people complaining about Versus XIII taking forever to release, it's not a matter of Square Enix having slow production cycles, they got their act together after FFXIII. The problem is that Versus XIII keeps getting shunned for Square Enix's new announcements like FFXIII-2 and FFX HD. Now that XIII-2 is out the door, production should have sped up a lot. I'm hoping it will be revealed at E3 as Final Fantasy XV, there are too many games under the XIII name. If it is revealed as FFXV then FF this generation will be almost identical to FF last generation.

The trailer released in January looks promising and shows a lot of progress, looking forward to it.

The cut-scenes are made by different people inside of S-E.  FF XIII's biggest problem wasn't the amount of time they spent on those, but how long it took them to create their graphics engine.  By the time they were done with creating their engine, most CGI cut-scenes were already done. ¬_¬



Yes!, I like pre-rendered cutscenes... the ones that don't look exactly like the game though :P. I thought the last CGI cutscenes they showed in the last trailer that also had gameplay looked pretty awesome :) I love the one where Noctis is in the backseat of his car... when they show the outside, damn... it looks so good :O

Maybe someday we'll have graphics like that...
