Forums - General Discussion - Would you rather have KH 3 optimized to the fullest for the PS3 or the Wii?

What I meant to say we wond an EPIC ending to the series, ALL OF THE DISNEY WORLDS EVER CREATED in one game, ALL VILLAINS, AMAZING GRAPHICS, amazing STORY, A huge 50 hour game, with amazing nex gen graphcis and amazing story line, to make the game HUGE AND EPIC.

PS3 is the way to go for KH3.

Also, I'd like to point that out.

If that was the intention with the Kingdom Hearts series, why there were two games released for the PS2 and none for the Xbox? I'm going by your logic that a more powerful console would have better graphics and the game would be more epic.

I will go this one on Wii.

PS3, the gameplay was fantastic on the PS2 so I don't think they should touch that.

Definitely the ps3...it was born on playstation and I'm a bit of a graphics whore when it comes to RPG's...other games, I don't care as much.

Well, I now only have access to a PS3 & 360...Plan on buying a wii soon (lol, if I can ever find one available!) but will probably wait until some of the major RPG's come out like Dragon Quest & Tales, etc.

Anyhow, I'm so far behind in games to play that I'm not in a huge hurry (lol, haven't even gotten a chance to finish God of War II yet!)

Wii.

I don't give a damn about the game... but if it goes to PS3 soriku will just be insufferable

Around the Network

It would be better on the Wii, PS3 would just be prettier, but gameplay wise the gsame, on Wii it would be innovative

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I agree with you when it comes to RPG graphics ( cut scenes) are very important. I say HD all the way (less jagged edges) so have to go with PS3. Swinging the wii controller would get old fast just like hitting the X button but with more work.

Remember Vagrant Story failed because of it complex as well as timed combat system. IF VS didn't do well during PS days I doubt it would have much luck today with higher cost. Thus console RPG combat has to be "simple"  to sell well.

I see this either going for the Wii, or going for a combination fo PS3/360 to ensure teh full audience spread, since PS3 is doing better in other and Japan, and 360 is doing good in america.

Or they might actually do all 3. with Wii getting it's own story and graphics and motion controls, and then the PS3 and 360 get their own version that focuses on lengthier cutscenes and high end graphics

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

@ Soriku

No, Square owns it. It's like with Halo and Bungie. Bungie developed the game, but M$ owns the IP, so anything Halo related will only be on an Xbox.

SE owns the KH IP, Disney did nothing but give consent to use their characters. SE did everything money and development related. So in the end, it's SE that decides where the game goes

You are misinformed.  Allow me to enlighten you. ^_^ Each piece of evidence that follows is in fact definitive proof that Disney owns everything in Kingdom Hearts not directly related to Final Fantasy.

Piece of evidence #1.  Taken directly from Kingdom Hearts 2's website:

© Disney Enterprises, Inc.

Developed by SQUARE ENIX.

© Disney. Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas © Touchstone Pictures. Developed by SQUARE ENIX. Characters from FINAL FANTASY video game series: © 1990, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005 Square Enix Co., Ltd. All Rights Reserved. SQUARE ENIX and the SQUARE ENIX logo are trademarks of Square Enix Co., Ltd.

Notice the primary trademark is Disney Enterprises, Inc.  After that, Square is credited with development, but given no trademarks for anything other than "Characters from FINAL FANTASY"" and their logos.

Piece of evidence #2.  Taken from here: http://www.gaming-age.com/cgi-bin/previews/preview.pl?sys=ps2&game=kingdomhearts

"Four new DISNEY main characters make their debut in KINGDOM HEARTS: Sora, Riku, Kairi and the Heartless."

That's right.  Every new character made in the game is property of Disney.

Piece of Evidence #3.  Taken from Gamerankings/Wikipedia.

Ever heard of a game named Kingdom Hearts Mobile? Well whether you have or not, it was a Kingdom Hearts game published by Disney and developed by Superscape with no involvement by Square Enix.  How did Disney get around this?  They simply didn't include FF characters.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_%28series%29#V_CAST

That's right.  Disney can make Kingdom Hearts without Square Enix at all if they so choose.

OK, I'll take that. I was indeed misinformed. But a Disney alone made KH would go down the drain (just look at your example with KH: Mobile). If that's what you want, w/e. However, I, on the other hand, want Sqaure Enix to have a part in the game because they've proven to make this game work well, and Nomura has AMAZING ideas, whereas, what in the world DID Disney do for Mobile, in regards to the KH story? Anyway, in the case of SE involvement, they will be developing AND publishing. And because of that, they will choose where the game goes.

The only way I see a KH Wii is if it IS a Disney only game. But what is KH without it's Final Fantasy elements? SE owns the rights to the battle system. That kills gameplay, unless Disney can come up with something good. SE owns the FF characters, so that gets rid of the "mix" of Disney and Square, which was the original intent of the game. So what's the purpose then? And worst of all, are Sora, Riku, and Kairi going to move? And if Roxas is involved anymore, will he just live in oblivion? Because SE owns the Destiny Islands and Twilight Town.

Sorry to rant, but if the reason you guys think KH will be Wii-ified is because "Disney can simply avoid SE", then your really just asking for a half made game.

Currently playing:

Unreal Tournament 3, Warhawk, Rock Band, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, DMC2, then 3, and Radiata Stories

"Stop the presses// It's been a while but I'm back in session// And in the past time my flow's matured more than adolescence// It's time to learn a lesson// So get you pen and your pad out, listen close, and take heed to this blessing"

Well, the Kingdom Hearts team is making Final Fantasy Versus 13, so they will already have an amazing engine up and running on the PS3, so it would make sense to use that engine for Kingdom Hearts.
