2011 SALES (FRANCE)

PlayStation 3 [845 000] + 3 %
Nintendo Wii [770 000] - 21 %
Nintendo 3DS [761 000]
Xbox 360 [532 000] - 3 %

LTD SALES (FRANCE)

Nintendo Wii [5,8 millions]
PlayStation 3 [3,8 millions]
Xbox 360 [2,7 millions]
Nintendo 3DS [761 000]

VGCHARTZ LTD sales (31st december)

3DS 37,209 (-58%) 839,739
PS3 34,718 (-41%) 3,837,373
X360 23,873 (-34%) 2,875,775
Wii 21,491 (-67%) 5,726,010
DS 12,378 (-53%) 10,335,662
PSP 8,486 (-38%) 3,389,547

 

So ps3 spot on, wii a little undertracked, 3DS a little overtracked, and Xbox overtracked.

This is another element who lets us think that the 360 didn't do wonderfully well in Europe.

So for my part, I really think that Microsoft stuffed the channels.

That was just for the period from the 3DS launch.

So 3DS 80k overtracked and 360 126k+ overtracked.

Just one question to those who wants to down-grade the XBOX360 achievements: is 2.7M LTD for XBOX360 a failure?

Do you guys know what a huge failure of original XBOX in Europe and what a huge success of PS2 in Europe?

If remember correctly, original XBOX was only shipped 24M WW and more than 16M were shipped inside USA. It means less than 8M (maybe less than 7M) were shipped in Europe. Original XBOX didn't build enough brand reputation in Europe.

So now in France, already 2.7M XBOX360 were sold to consumers meaning perhaps more than 3.0M already shipped in France. Tell me, isn't it a progress for XBOX brand?

Regarding to "overship", I think only XBOX360 2012 Q1 shipment can tell us the truth. Why don't you wait until April to show your judgment.
