- Killing soundtrack.

- Terrific cast of characters.

- Original plot (though you could say this too for the 95% of animes, really) about an amnesic criminal, light-hearted and funny without resorting to childish' humour (well, most of the time at least). Excellent use of drama too.

- Great animation, well, at least for me. It shows its age, though, just like Cowboy Bebop!

- Steampunk Wild West ambientation.

It has some bizarre plot twists at the final chapters, but I hold this anime in high regard. The movie is great too, and you can (and should) see it before watching the anime as it ties in-between some non-spoilerish, unspecified chapters, and gives you a peek behind the curtain before the magnificent anime. The animation is way better in the movie, though xD
