"Sony has the cut the Vita shipment in France by 50% according to this report:

They won't ship 80.000 units for launch but 40.000 units instead. 75% will be the WiFi model, 25% the 3G model. So my fuzzy math says 30k WiFi, 10k 3G.

Doesn't seem that surprising to me because my retailer buddies told me that those European pre-order boxes with free ear buds weren't selling out by a long shot"

I really doubt poor sales in Japan is the cause of halfing the shipment. The PSVs are manufactured months ahead of the launch. So they have already taken the plunge, what they maybe doing is shifting it elsewhere in the world where they think they maybe able to shift more units.

No, playstation is very strong in France. I just think it's more a lack of awareness.

40K for a Western country with 60 million people. The total European shipment should be around 250 K then (I'm thinking rufly 6 times France shipment).

Well...(looks at my Sony PR handbook) AH!

Should be way higher... Dont tell me you think its gonna be lower than Japan ??

100K for UK, 70K for Germany, 40K for France, 40K for Italy, 40K for Spain.

Give or take. Now you add all the others countries...
