Each console generation has had its share of ups and downs. Since this year will mark the start of the 8th generation of consoles once the Wii-U is launched. What do yall think about the previous gens of gaming and which one was the best to you

So what do yall think was the best generation of gaming so far...

(Consoles form the 4th generation to the 7th generation)

Anything without Sony in it.

1. 5th

3D! Analog sticks! Amazing games like  Zelda: OoT/MM,   POKEMON!, the Square Enix Golden Age, etc. 

2. 7th

Inovation with Wii and DS. Amazing big budget games in the twin consoles. Even with the rise of F P S, we had an amazing variety of quality games in every single genre.

3. 4th

Well, motherfucking SNES, what else. 

Not the most original Thread but I cant easily answer but 7th gen is the absolute worst.

so for you that must leave only 8bit then since Super Famicom( SNES) had SONY sound Chip xD

7th is a pretty heated battle and the most intense.

But I would have to say the first gen is the best because its what started it all.

6th. PS2 was king. Best selection of games ever.

I'm NOT going off Nostalgia factor because that's not fair to the 6th and 7th gens which are both still pretty fresh.

5th.............

Platforming heaven with the likes of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Castle of Illusion: Starring Mickey Mouse, Kid Chameleon, Revenge of Shinobi, Quackshot........ the liest goes on and on.

Side scrolling beat em' up delights like Streets of Rage 2 & 3, Final Fight 1 & 2, Golden Axe, The Punisher, Battletoads ect.

And of course it was the height of the 1 on 1 fighter era, i paid well over the odds for an import copy of Street Fighter 2 for my Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in the day, and it was worth every penny, playing near arcade perfect games on your console was a mindblowing prospect during those times.

Then there was of course all the Street Fighter 2 Updates, Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3 & Ultimate, Killer Instinct, Eternal Champions ect.

And Finally there was the racing genre............ i used to have sooooooooooo much fun playing the likes of Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament (up to 8 people could play on the same Sega Mega Drive without an adaptor, again, mindblowing at the time), then there was the almighty Mario Kart (oh what fun we had on that) and Road Rash 2.

Not just good times............ exceptional times, aaahhhhhhhhhh.

5th, pc was at it's best too at that time

Grim Fandango, Half-Life, Baldur's gate, Zelda OOT, MGS, FF7, Heart of Darkness, Mario 64, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Dungeon Keeper, Blade runner, Frontier First encounters, Unreal tournament, Everquest

Every genre was well represented and online was great on the pc.
