it wouldnt kill them to do it, at least to make there so call masterpiece a good game

After Lair's release, Factor (4.5) made a statement to the effect of the PS3's potential being maxed out on Lair. Lair had more problems than just the control -- for example, the framerate was is a significant problem. Control and framerate go hand in hand -- you can't control accurately if don't have the granularity to do it with.

Lair was also delayed several times. It's not like they could fix their problems in a few months. This is something that would take 6+ months to address at least.  The kind of expertise that they'd need to fix, for example, the framerate problem isn't exactly cheap.

Anybody played the damn thing BTW? Is it that bad? Doubt I'd buy it without ability to switch off motion sensing (can't believe it wasn't in there as an option from the start) but you never know.

Game was rushed.
Game has not optional controls.

If game would get FIX, it would get it`s deserved 8.
Why factor 5 don`t make patch.. probably you should write them a letter and ask.

Yeah, I played it. Terrible game, though the controls are slightly better now that Sony updated the firmware.

The game still sucks, though. On top of its technical issues, it's very uninspired. It looks great at times but overall, there just isn't much there.

Thanks Rocketpig@

Sounds like it exists only to show of your HD TV and push use of motion sensing controls... hey wait a minute...

What were they thinking, not putting analog controls? Didnt they test the game? Couldnt they see it was a bad idea? On the safe side, they should have put it from the start. I havent played it but I've never heard anyone say anything good about the controls. They just ruined the game.

I don't have much interest but I do have to wonder how much effort it would actually take to activate normal controls? I mean, you're only adding an input device to a game thats finished. Surely this is a mornings work then off for a late lunch after playtesting?

I'll this for the 100th time:  the problem is not the method of controlling but the game's controls.  I played the game using my PSP with the analog knub and it's not any better.  Warhawk is great with Sixaxis motion controls, but Lair is not.

That said, Lair's controls weren't that bad and it was entirely playable.  The missions were what sucked.

I agree they should have added analog controls for all the whiners who can't adjust, but if they just fixed the motion controls it wouldn't be a problem.

probably will hurnt their pride and pockets knowing they made a bad game...

I'll keep saying the same damn thing: My complaint wasn't with the controls. My complaint was they spent 25 million dollars and sold us an alpha copy game. Only one aspect of controls was a complaint, and I had about one hundred complaints about that game. If they spent the time to move from alpha, did a bit more testing, the game would have been awesome. But they apparently tried to keep every flaw in the game they could.
