Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Zelda SS outsold by Zelda OO3D

Launches aligned SS is selling BETTER. Plus, as many pointed out Ocarina 3D was bundled and doesn't require an extra peripheral.

People aren't easily fooled twice. Twilight Princess could capitalize on Wii-mania and Skyward Sword suffers from not fixing enough of the problems. What got improved over TP are the motion controls, but the rest was left the same or got worse:

1. Terrible beginning.
2. No real overworld.
3. Handholding beyond belief with many forced messages.

These are all things you encounter within the first couple of hours and they are devastative for good word of mouth. This game isn't going to have good legs, because too much filler and stupidity gets into the way of how people define Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda is a series with the potential to grow in popularity and exceed 10 million copies for a single iteration, but it's not going to happen as long as Nintendo continues to sabotage it by using it as a vehicle for storytelling and creativity or even worse, to sell games that couldn't stand on their own.

Now is the time for New Legend of Zelda, a game that tries to be like Zelda was before it went 3D.

Stop imitating Mallstrom.

Zelda is much better since it went into 3D.

OOT 3ds is very heavily bundled. The vast majority of its sales are from the United States where from the 3ds bundle. After the bundle released, its sales increased 20fold in the US. That isn't a coincidence or a holiday boost, because other 3ds games got much smaller boosts except super mario 3d land which is also bundled.

Lack of advertisement on television and the quality of their ads. I never saw a Skyward Sword commercial on tv but I had to YOUTUBE them and they lacked creativity and the sense of 'oh this game looks awesome I have to go buy'. MW3 commercial-now that's how one should advertise.

There were a lot of commercials on tv for it, almost every commercialblock had one in the evening. They were all the same tho, all those with robin williams and zelda williams in it.

Terrible idea.

The pre-Ocarina of Time Zelda formula is an obsolete concept that would flop in today's market.

I'm sure SS will do fine. Lifetime it will probably outsell OoT 3D. What surprises me are OoT 3D's sales.

Because Ocarina was released in June and Skyward Sword in November?

But SS is outsold right now.

What numbers have the bundled? I know that in my country I have not seen one Zelda bundle for the whole holiday season as I purchased my 3DS.

Skyward Sword may suffer from the Wii motion Plus, altough the controls are amazing , people may be confused by what they need to play this game.

Hey, new guy. How about this? No one gives a fuck.

Also, people are fucking morons. Some questions I get at work:

"Can I play Mario on PS3?"

"Can I get Kinect for the Wii?"

"Is Modern Warfare 3 on sale?"

Fucking morons.

If you don't give a fuck, go away, because it seems you care being there.

Ocarina of Time is also one of the most iconic games ever released - it is the Super Mario Bros. 3 or Final Fantasy 7 of the Zelda series.

Add that there are also A LOT of brand new 3DS owners.
