I just think some people are really overestimating the popularity of this game, the fact that this is being only released in a SPECIALITY game store for what I would assume would be a limited time only, should tell you that not even Ninty is expecting big numbers. The damn thing has sold 300k between Europe AND Japan to date. ANd you really believe it could close to that in just preorders?? This isnt the PS1 era, JRPGS are not nearly that popular anymore, matter of fact, as much as i hate to say it I think it has gone down to SNES levels. Except for the portables.

They both looked somewhat promising and unique. MadWorld with it's unique artstyle and quirkiness. The Conduit with its focus on single-player (not much of an FPS multiplayer guy...) and unique (maybe intellectual?) setting.

Of course, my perception changed very quickly when I played them. I knew I was done with MadWorld after the first 30 minutes. The Conduit lasted a bit longer (maybe a couple of hours?) before I grew tired of it. Both were promptly traded in.

But hey... 2 out of 60 (I'm at 60 Wii games? Nice.) ain't bad. Everyone buys stinkers from time to time.

Madworld looked interesting to me as well. BUt Conduit?? It always seemed off to me, the devs were unproven and they were talking waaaay too much shit. You want a FPS for story, I would check out the BIoshocks, if you have a system that runs it that is.

Pretty sure this will be the biggest territory for this game and the other two games.

Also once these games do well, the wii will get imported games all year pushing it through another Christmas in the west. Just what I think"could" happen.

see thats just the thing, I dont think people are going crazy, a couple of hundred forum dwellers to me do not constitute "crazy". Now COD, that crazy, hell BF might be more crazy.

Way ahead of ya man. My brother owns a 360, so we play on each other's consoles all the time. Bioshock is my 33rd favorite game of all time. Can't wait for Infinite (will get it on PC).

As for topic, game is getting a limited release through a single retailer, of course pre-orders will be good, most of them will be for ebay.

yeah, been a while since I've seen him post about doing this stuff, saddest bit of fandom I've ever heard of.  Developers don't deserve money just because they develop on a Nintendo platform.  Doing his best to screw over any company that develops on a console he doesn't like, kind of thing that makes him the worst kind of fan, one that's not only a boon to the company he loves, but destructive to those he doesn't.

I play it on my computer though with dolphin  emulator and my xbox 360 pad. I don't steal (don't worry :)).

Not that I hope it is, because it's a fantastic game (my favorite JRPG this gen behind 3, handheld JRPG's). But I'm skeptical of those numbers. 
Because it's being released weird. And the fact that xenosaga didn't sell that well. I know it's a different platform, and this is a much better game.
But, I'm still skeptical. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

In more negative news I unfortunately hear it got pirated close to 1million times. This should teach NoA to wake up and localize games faster next time.

well excuse me for trying to utilize the tiniest bit of influence i have over the industry.

look, torillian, your set of values is a little different than mine, but that doesn't mean yours is right. microsoft and sony are nothing but LEECHES on this industry. they in no way care about the consumer as evidenced by their support of things like online pass and now locking out single player content for people who buy the game used is an ALL TIME LOW.

so, yes, i am going to try to screw these developers out of every new sale that i can. its the right thing to do.
