I bought the Longest Journey. I cannot run anything released since about 2003-2004 ish.

Can anyone recommend some old games that are on steam, no FPS games please. All I have on Steam of the old Fallout games, Broken Sword Trilogy, Longest Journey and Portal (which doesn't run properly due to requirments).

You would be better with gog rather then steam imho. They now have all catalogue at 3 or 5$ per game during christmas.

Well, I just doubled my PC game collection according to my VGC game collection.

Bought Riven (sequel to Myst) and then the Half-Life pack.

I'm guessing a number of the games in Half-Life are actually episodic, or in the case of HL Deathmatch... just the multiplayer portion?

I've started playing Half-Life, but I'm just familiarising myself with it and not playing through it till after Christmas (I don't have a mouse at the moment, but I am getting one for Christmas)

I presume there will be a lot of people familiar with HL here, what kind of content is in all the extra bits.... and what are the "source" games?

The source games are the games upgraded to run in the newer source engine.

Anywhoo OP updated, seeing the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games on sale is weird

If you like the fallout style gameplay, the Genforge series seems good.

I haven't played much yet, but it's fallout style battling, with a story that seems pretty decent.  Graphics are... worse then fallout though.

It's a shame I can't suggest FPS, cause the original Dues Ex rules... and I tned to hate FPS.

Also, though it was recently released.  I'm almost positive you'd be able to run the indy game Cthulu Saves the World.  It's a throwback to NES/SNES RPGs.

Also, i've bought ORc's must die and Dungeon of Dredmore.

Yeah... just for the coal from achivements.

Both seem like fun games i'll play though.

First Fable and Witcher: Enhanced Edition. Have been seriously tempted by Metro 2033, Civilization IV and Orcs must die.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Yeah, I was digging how Orc's must Die gives you a more active hand them most "Tower Defense" games.... and Dungeons seems like it will be fun for "Self competing" with different loadouts.

Bloody hell. Why is Arkham City region locked? "Not available in your region". It was the same with Fable 3. $25 is an amazing deal for Batman:AC

because for some reason publishers let brick & morter dictate terms, and it turns out that retail stores don't like it when the games are available much cheaper and sooner online. There are some details here http://www.kotaku.com.au/2011/05/why-does-the-witcher-2-cost-more-in-australia/.
