I am a 64 fanatic so I would say the 64 version is the best, but I have only played this version for a total of a few hours.

Anyone for excitebots?

While Mario Kart 64 is good it's incredibly unbalanced (the CPU's karts have more speed than yours) and for example it has the worst Rainbow Road (it's glitchy as well). Overall it hasn't aged very well.

I always disliked the Rainbow road to be honest. More of an island beach guy myself, and I loved the train level!

My top 3 favourite tracks from the game are: Koopa Troopa Beach, Sherbet Land, and Mario Raceway. Toad's Turnpike is an atrocious track though.

Well deserved to the fullest.

Also to note Crash Team Racing is better than Mario Kart 64, not the the other Mario Karts though.

Seriously? I should try it out than o.o

The Mario Kart series gets progressively better each instalment in my opinion and nobody expected Naughty Dog to release the only kart game that could rival Mario Kart 64, it topped it in my opinion because there was so much more content.

Cant remember, but which system did it come out and which version should I get?

It came out on the PS1 but I think it might be on the PS Store.

Alright i'll check it out!

Btw read your earlier post about the CPU karts in Mario Kart 64 being faster than your own, so damn true xD!

Yeah and for some reason Bananas made you quicker!

I looked for the option that says "according to my stats I beat Rol 1 in 3 times. It wasn't there.

Honestly, Mario Kart Wii is my all time favorite racing game and it deserves these kinds of sales.

I remember waaaaay back, probably in 2008, betting with some dude called PeterPotamus that Gran Turismo 5 would not outsell MKWii.

Too bad he dropped off the site soon after the bet was made. Where ever you are, Potamus, know that I am gloating!

Mario Kart Wii is your all time favorite! No Need for Speed, or Breakout, or Ridge Racer, Beetle Adventure Racing, GT, any of thaat? Wow!

It's my favourite too. There's really no other racing game that comes close for me.

I went back and read some of the threads from when Mario Kart Wii launched. Before Mario Kart Wii launched, there were actually several threads discussing whether Mario Kart Wii or Gran Turismo 5: Prologue would sell the most. Most people landed on MKWii winning it, but quite a few thought Gran Turismo 5: Prologue would sell more. It seemed like roughly half the people expected the "real" Gran Turismo 5 to sell more than Mario Kart Wii. Which is quite amusing, as Mario Kart Wii looks to sell between 8 and 9 times as much as GT5:P and nearly 4 times as much as GT5.

I'm not that much better myself, though. I remember predicting Mario Kart Wii and Brawl would sell as much as each other, both at 13 million. MKWii is looking to nearly triple that.
