Don't take this the wrong way,but if you remember my other post or topic I statted Nintendo and Microsoft have gone casual because hey let's face it they're making children games right now.

Example:Kinect Disneyland adventures REALLY???Well all know how Nintendo has become casual,but that's just MY opinion.

The reason why I am mostly gmaing on PS3 is because SOny has never went casual yes the Move may be casual,BUT it supports hardcore games like Killzone 3,Heavy Rain,Resistance.This is just my opinion though.


 @Bold Ehh, I don't really agree with that. Nintendo isn't the one really making the kids games, I wouldn't call NSMBW a kids game or Zelda. But, thanks for saying "My opinion." =D (the rest I guess I can agree with..... sort of.) (IMO.)

The idea of a "casual" or "hardcore" gamer is retarded. There is no set definition because the whole thing is a giant mess of stupidity

I don't see how it is retarded,it seperates the hardcore from the casual meaning people who just play CoD all day long and people who play games like UC3,Gears,God of War.Games that you don't see people play often.

My opinion on a casual gamer is someone who games on one console and or just plays the same games over and over again constantly.

In additon,they play the same generic FPS never changing the game genre and yep those are the peeple you see on PSN and XBL playing CoD:MW3 all day long.Without even bothering to change it up a little.

Exactly! That first definition meets everyone's charteristics. Everyone on this site is a caual gamer on thi site Same with the FPS definition.

kid games are cauasl? I don't think so. I know kids are completly addicted video games and have biggger colections then me! I think they are hardcore.

The Gamecube was hardcore and the wii murders that system. Many willl agree. So Nintendo gone casual since 2001?

So the amount of people playing a game constitute whether it is hardcore or not? Are WoW, Halo, Bejeweled "casual" games? They are all games that have a large amount of sales and people play for hours at a time. Where do we cut off the amount a sales a game can have before it's considered "casual"?

My brother plays nothing besides CoD, he plays it hours at end. Do I consider him "casual"? No. If anything he is more "hardcore" than me... Especially when we look at the definition of the word.

hard-core: intensely loyal; "his hard-core supporters"

 

Going by that definition he is a "hard core supporter" of CoD and gaming on a whole.

If your brother play CoD all day long hes a casual regardless of ho many hourse he may be a "Hardcore CoD player" but not a hardcore all around gamer.The more the game sells doesn't tend to make it casual.

Define hardcore? Are people that play a lot of UC 3 multiplayer casual? what about Gears? KZ? Dance Central? Viva Pinata? WoW? 

I've gone weeks with only playing one game. Does that make me a casual?

No okay just to end this debate.My definition of hardcore which I already explained is someone who plays a WIDE VARIETY of games.

Meaning different genres.FPS gets so boring since the market is flooded with FPS games.
