If it happens in 2013 or later, it won't even matter anymore because we'll be in the next generation of consoles.

Although I don't think PS3 will get close to outselling PS3, rather, I think the gap will widen between them.

I'm only expecting the PS3 to move past the 360 slowly and to end up a bit ahead but not by much.

I expect new Xbox Q3 or Q4 2013. I expect 360 sales to dip then in core Western markets. I don't expect 360 to have much of a tail outside core territories and emerging markets.

I expect a new PlayStation around the same time. I expect sales to dip in core Western markets. I expect PS3 to have a decent tail in Japan and - similar to PS2 now - outside core territories and in emerging markets. That tail will take PS3 past 360, very slowly mid 2014 I suspect, 360 might take back second place Holiday 2014 and then PS3 finally takes and holds a slight lead from 2015 onwards when most Western attention is firmly on the new consoles.

I think PS3 will surpass XBOX360 in March, 2012. But I don't expect this happen because I am a XBOX360 lover.

It'll either be when the next Xbox comes out and you could argue that at by that stage the generation would be over... it'll be the second home console released and depending on time the second handheld would have also been released. I'm going with never though. Wii has won this generation with 360 winning the hd war.

in japan,asia,a few europe countries they still will which is where PS3 is the stronger console.............hehe

anyways,my prediction was not based on that.Euro collapse and other events will not happen till late next year.

vgc numbers as of november 5th -  2.5million gap

vgc numbers as of december 3rd - 3.2million gap

now when official numbers come out in January end for Q4 2011,we will know how it is gonna pan out.

Possibly never. If it closes the gap by 1m a year it would take 3 years, but then again X360 must have a price cut next year.
