Cool stuff, might be interested in the future. Btw, why would anyone would be interested in a RTS game on a console?

Becouse console fanboys want to have all pc oriented genres ruined ;)

But as history shows us they are only a vocal forum minority since sales numbers never support it.

Or maybe some people don't have gaming PCs and would like to be able to play RTS games on their consoles.

A RTS on classic controllers would be lame and terrible but  Wii-U's tablet is very well suited for RTS games (and MMOs! =D).

Nintendo will no doubt prove it with Pikmin 3. Pikmin 1 and 2 sold well enough.

By the time this releases I wouldn't be surprised to see it on current and/or next gen consoles.

Well I wouldn't say well suited, but rather passable, instead of painful.

Where they have been when all previous console RTSes flopped ?

The only one even remotly succesfull was Halo wars and it was mostly because it had Halo in name.

Westwood studios.

It's not gonna happen, but I can still ask for it. Still, Despite EA running this franchise into the ground and repeatedly hammering at it to stay down, I'll withhold judgement for now. It is Bioware after all. It'll be interesting if they try to tie the generals universe in with the others, though I was hoping for a semi reboot, one where they would ignore every game that was made post Westwood.

Well they have just renamed Westwood several times, the issue was that many of them left to form Petroglyph, who have been a bit rubbish

I am okay with it not being on console, despite my love for Halo Wars, but I really hope that there will actually be a Bioware spin on it, despite it not actually being a Bioware game

Who would want to play RTS games with a classic controller? (besides Pikmin).

Nope. Much more than just passable. Well suited.

Touch and stylus control would be a great way to play RTS games.

It would be even better if someone made an RTS game where you have the option to do all the army and resource management on the controller while you take direct control of a unit on the TV screen so you could really get into the ation. A totally new way to play RTS games.

I really hope devs make really innovative ways to play with this thing.

halo wars was a fun console RTS, as well as Battle for middle earth 2.
the problem with them was the unit cap, not the controls. RTS is one of the few genres that will remain PC dominate.
Halo wars if the unit cap wasn't so low there could be more to the Multiplayer then "scout enemy, immediate counter"
BFME2 was epic because of the story.

the best RTS out atm is starcraft 2, i dont think generals 2 will bring back the series to former glory. in all honesty i would like to see a new Renegade then another C&C RTS.

I sure hope that the general battles won't be painstakingly corny as its predecessor. Has Bioware made any other RTS's?

Late reply incoming.

Well they closed westwood and offered them to join EALA but they did close down westwood regardless. :P

But yeah, I hope bioware oversees development and somehow manages to steer it in the right direction so we don't get another crappy "cnc" game.
