Oh my God, seriously? You are listening to something called "Spike TV"; which seems to be an alternative lifestyle TV channel directed at men with shows like "Total Nonstop Action Wrestling", "Impact Wrestling", and "Ultimate Fighting Championship" - and according to the wikipedia article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_(TV_channel) -, their parent company is " The Gaylord Entertainment Company" - Kind of funny considering the general homophobia among gamers. Although, I've always thought homophobia was a bit dumb: such a lot of fuss over a few extra S's!

Unless you are joking about these awards being somehow significant and "the grammies of videogame awards", the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences awards held at D.I.C.E. or E3 are what I would consider the Academy Awards of Videogames.

Just watch the video of it and you'll understand why it's one of the biggest video game awards out there because it is basically the video game version of the emmy's for movies and TV.

I've never been a fan of open world games, but I can appreciate quality when I see it. From what I've seen and read Skyrim deserves the award.

It was my goty as well so a good pick by spike. Really all of the games nominated could be worthy of goty so it seems silly to choose one. Skyrim does take free world gaming to new heights so Congrats and well deserved.

I would prefer to play it on my ps3, but im in no rush right now as my backlog is huge!!! I will probably wait for the GOTY edition, but from what I heard it seems the game did deserve it. 200hrs of quality gameplay speaks for itself. Only Arkham City really stood a chance against it, but either way congrats to Beth on their achievment.
