Forums - Gaming Discussion - Skyrim wins 2011 VGA GOTY award and over a dozen more.

What should have won GOTY?

Skyrim 134 41.74%

Uncharted 3 83 25.86%

Batman Arkham City 22 6.85%

Portal 2 14 4.36%

Skyward Sword 67 20.87%

Total:320

great a game that is unplayable on my ps3 wins GOTY! of course uncharted 3 wasnt gonna win because it had to live up to uncharted 2 and ppl were expecting so much. also take into account thats its difficult for an exclusive title to win against multi platform games. ill tell you right now if another batman game comes out by rocksteady they are gonna have so much pressure on them because of arkham city and everyone will be disappointed and rage. what a joke.

Claymore, another PS3 freak

That's why I suggest Bethesda stop making PS3 games and get back to morrowind era (PC focused + Xbox), good old days

PS3 freak will overstate the bugs and won't like Bethesda's games like we did (from Daggerfall to Fallout 3, then Skyrim)

All PS3 gamers want are those cinematic exprience, nothing all... They won't appreciate open-world RPGs,

PS3 owners do have a reason to complain about Skyrim and Bethesda. The lag bug is completely game-breaking after sometime (I know I wouldn't play Skyrim on my PC if it hit single digits FPS, much less stay that way for minutes at a time).

Bethesda screwed up the PS3 version and gamers have the right to be pissed at them. That being said, they don't have the right to belittle all the versions of the game just because they can't play it. Doing that, they lose all argumentative reasons.

How can you know if the PS3 gamers are overreacting,if you've only played the PC and 360 version?Try to make some goddamn sense.

I don't know how bad Skyrim's bugs are but I will say this: Games should be judged based on the entire experience it offers in a wholistic view. Not as a combination of individual aspects.

Lets take Shadow of the Collossus for example. The game had it's fair share of technical issues, but that does not detract from it being one of my most beloved games of all times. When I give the game a 10/10, that doesn't mean it does every individual aspect better than every other game. No, a 10/10 means that, as a complete and whole package, the game offers an overall experience unmatched by any other game.

That's how I think people feel about Skyrim. Sure the game has faults, but the game's pros must be great enough to still give the player an experience that trumps nearly every other game.

Of course, if the game has game-breaking bugs, then none of what I said applies here.

And also that SKyrim bug talk, the only ones complaining are PS3 gamers

Zelda also has game breaking bug and Nintendo fans won't magnify it

Only PS3 gamers overstated Skyrim's bugs, SKyrim is the most stable launch in Bethesda's history, I played both PC version and Xbox360 version, they are fine..

I hope Bethesda won't make PS3 games in the future just stick with Xbox360 and PC, PS3 gamers can play Dark souls, so they won't miss anything.. The future TES games belong to PC and XBOX because PS3 gamers like to overstate issues of Bethesda games and also the PS3 version is the least profiable among the three (yeah, PC SKyrim makes way more money via Steam digital alone)

I hope Bethesda learnt that and stop making PS3 games

Oh my God, seriously? You are listening to something called "Spike TV"; which seems to be an alternative lifestyle TV channel directed at men with shows like "Total Nonstop Action Wrestling", "Impact Wrestling", and "Ultimate Fighting Championship" - and according to the wikipedia article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_(TV_channel) -, their parent company is " The Gaylord Entertainment Company" - Kind of funny considering the general homophobia among gamers. Although, I've always thought homophobia was a bit dumb: such a lot of fuss over a few extra S's!

Unless you are joking about these awards being somehow significant and "the grammies of videogame awards", the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences awards held at D.I.C.E. or E3 are what I would consider the Academy Awards of Videogames.

people know what Spike TV is.

and its one of the biggest, if not the biggest Game Award show there is

The biggest, and with some of the least credibility

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Wow. We just rewarded a developer for putting out a broken game. And yes, this is coming from a guy who has Skyrim on the PS3. The problems are absolutely real and well documented on their forums.

My copy isnt broken, but has some funny as hell glitches.

And yet it still whips the pnts off the other games in the nominees.

It is so muc more fun, and involving.

Well done Skyrim. At least I agree with the winner this time, but dont agree with all the nominees.

I wasn't aware you played Skyrim on the PS3.
