Sony’s third home console has managed to keep the competiton at bay so far this year in the world’s fourth largest video game market. According to data released by Le Figaro, the PS3 has sold 530,000 units in France. Nintendo’s Wii follows close behind at 400k and Microsoft’s popular choice for western consumers ranked in third place with 300k untis sold this year.
These numbers of course are a far cry from what we’ve witnessed in other parts of the world. However the French gaming society is an important one as video games have became a popular way of entertainment among Europe’s consumers. Sales are expected to increase over the Holiday period so it will be interesting to see
