Forums - Sony Discussion - Only 1 PSN Account per Vita

so let me get this straight, Sony takes measures to defend itself against people taking advantage of them (with the PSN hacks earlier this year as well as the part where they took away the 5-console sharing thing, and now the PSV's decision to only have one PSN account per system)...and you bitch?

While I couldn't care less about the actual company, it's very clear that people just LOVE bitching about Sony for some reason. It's been like this since 2005 "Sony hates us" "sony is shitting on fans" "sony is selfish"...meanwhile sony allowed you dumbasses to share games (which resulted in millions of lost sales), gave us free online play (and yet you bitched when they offered playstation plus), and unlike other publishers/console makers, has actually given more creative freedom to people who develop for them (look at Media Molecule, Polyphony, Quantic Dream, and Team ICO) than the competition, yet the public en mass HATES them.

This wasn't an issue with the PS1 or PS2, it wasn't till PSP and PS3 came out that so many people (most notably americans) got on the HATE SONY bandwagon, largely in part due to the lovely viral campaign microsoft had against them. (which is a rumor, but a strongly supported one).

Is this a serious post?

Sony removing functionality that some people used is obviously going to disappoint those people.

Haha, 3rd post in that thread is priceless. Guy really thinks if you don't have a JPN PSN account you can't play JPN cartridges.

He was probably referring to digital content.

Given the second post and all.

Sure, I guess everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I am really  surprised that no one made a "Cat fight" joke from the posts above.

This is not a big deal at all. The majority of psn members do not have multiple accounts, In fact id bet that only the very hardcore of gamers do that, which is a very small minority. This doesn't even happen on the ps3 which is a home console and where multiple accounts are allowed.

We also have to take into account the nature of the PSV which is a handheld console that will likely only have one owner.

And also to the people complaining that now they wont be able to make a US account and get exclusive us content...well you weren't meant to be able to do that in the first place. The fact that you can do it on the ps3 is more of a bonus than a requirement.

That's unfortunate, but not a deal-breaker.

Thank you Sony....

You almost already destroyed Vita for me.

I don't buy the same machine twice.

And who cares about that personal bullshit....What do you have on your PSP that you can't lend to other people? Porn?

Not that surprising, both Sony and Nintendo like the idea of households owning multiple portables.

We still don't know how Sony is implementing this. From PS Asia's email to me last month regarding the change in activation rules, it explicitly states that PS Vita will share the same slots as PSP. This meaning the games are device locked. If its device locked we should be able to play it regardless of which account we're on? Just like PS3?

The only hassle part comes when we have to "reformat" the device if we were to dl it using the account that we purchase it I guess. But how difficult is doing that we do not know until the device launches, in more than a week's time...

One more thing. It says format the device to factory settings, and it has no internal memory. So I guess the card's contents remain? I don't know whats the fuss about. Its probably will work the same way as PSP, which I agree is a step back considering it has enough ram to support multiple logins.

In PS3 the game is device AND account locked. You must have the account registered in your system. Also the game supports only 5 devices at a time.

If you have a game on your PS3 and delete the acc of that game, you can't play anymore.

Also, I think that this propietary card is not only for money. Probably the card will function like the hard drive from the PS3, very encrypted and all.
