Amazing isn't it? A lot of people thought it would only do about 2.5m lifetime, mainly because it didn't have multiplayer and because it's on a console with a much smaller install base than the PS2 had when God of War I & II released... Now it's looking to do more than double that. With the Trilogy Editions sales (98,588) it's currently at 4,296,310/ 4.3m in just 88 weeks. Should hit 5m by the end of 2012/ early 2013 (In time for God of War IV).

Yeah if God of War 4 has a good online MP similar to Uncharted 3 or some of the Halo games I can see it really progressing the franchise in terms of sales.
