I wouldn't put down his list when yours includes Arakawa Under the Bridge, Ouran High School Host Clubb, High School of the Dead and Amagami SS.

I didn't put down his list, I put down his poll. You can easily go to community site and see what a consensus thinks about the best shows (such as MAL/anidb's highest rated). The polls lacks any sort of discretion and contains shows from the same genre. It shows a lack of experience considering the wide array of great shows out there.

 

And don't you be hating on Arakawa and Amagami. There are pretenious reasons to dislike Ouran and Highschool of the Dead, but not the former.

I never claimed to be an anime expert i just put down shows that i like. And think that most people have heard of. 

I apologize, I wasn't trying to insult your poll, but I ended up doing so in my responses. There's nothing wrong with only watching certain types of shows, just as long as you're willing to branch out and watch something that may be good. Seriously, there are some great shows listed in this thread. Give 'em a try. ^_^

Its cool, i have tried watching other anime's but they are usually only 20-30 episodes long. Although i have gotten into Fairy tail but i think thats the same type of show as Bleach and Naruto

That's my favorite type of anime personally.  Shows that go on for much longer than that usually end up with filler, episodes that have nothing to do with the main story arc and are just there to take space (like the last couple months of Naruto).  I think that a 26 episode story is almost perfect, like I recently just got around to finally checking out Gurren Lagann and it was perfectly paced.  Went from humble beginnings to crazy galaxy demolishing fights all in 26 episodes and I never got bored, it's like what DBZ should be if it weren't so disgustingly drawn out. 

I think the issue with having a crazy action anime that goes on forever like DBZ is every new fight has to try and won up the last, but you already have someone that can destroy the planet with a thought so there isn't much further to go, after you don't have a sense of scale to base their power off of it just turns into a series of villain introductions, heros get the crap kicked out of them, heroes go train, most of the heroes still fail but one manages to stand out and get things done.  Fun for a while but it really starts to grate.

In my opinion Bleach should have been canceled years ago (even the manga sucks now) or at least they should have stopped making fillers. The Soul Society Arc was great but after that it failed harder and harder.

Anyway my favorite anime is Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners. I also like One Piece a lot but I enjoy much more the manga.



Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

Hummm there are a lot of brilliant Anime out there...
in my mind Haruhi and Lucky Star are battling for the crown,

the last really really really... really good one I saw was Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai...

I stayed awake the whole night just to watch all the episodes in one sitting...
Though I hate it when something makes me cry... I am such a crybaby...

Grave of the Fireflies is not only the best anime movie I've seen but simply one of my favorite movie ever and certainly the best World War II movie.
