Forums - Sales Discussion - Black Friday anecdotal evidence thread

You're the ones continuing it, my OP wasn't derailing it at all it was a discussion with thismeintial and everyone decided to chirp in. I get the point of the thread, just that it seems silly to come to any conclusions over what it means (but knock yourselfs out) I was just making a point.

And yes ElGran I'll do my best to get numbers tomorrow!

I went to my local Best Buy and Toys R Us and all PS3's BF bundles were sold out. Plenty of stacks of xbox's though.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

I won't lie, I saw tons of 360s being sold but just ask much PS3s being sold as well, but for some reason people were buying the PS3s in bulk [2-4 per person]. Have no idea why it was like this but I feel like the PS3 wont be as far behind the 360 as it was last year. [if my local stores are anything to go by]

Just glad I picked up my Zelda 3DS. ^__^

^_^

i went to a lot of stores 'cause i love to shop. xD

at the more electronically oriented places like best buy kinect was the obvious best seller. ps3 was okay but poor as was wii. ds/3ds were always stocked together...couldn't quite tell who was shopping for what but combined it seemed to be doing well. however, tablets had waaaay more interest then any of the video game products.

at some of the non-electronic oriented stores like kohls there was a hell of a lot of cheap wii software selling.

software seemed to be mostly madden, COD, BF3.

So noone has seen any Wii's sold?????

I heard in a different site, the Blue Wii $99 at Walmart did a killing.

They certainly sold out of them. The real question is just 1 deal at 1 store chain do that much damage.  How many did each store have to sell.  I also really think what will be interesting to see is what are the deals that start Sunday for next week. So far all we have is Target selling the 250GB Kinect Bundle for $299.99  and the PS3 Move bundle for $299.99

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

that one store has ovet 3700 stores in the US. The Wii and Kinect was made for timeslike this, I expect major numbers. We need a black friday prediction thread.

Anecdotally

On looking around the internet

Wii selling gangbusters
PS3 selling gangbusters
360 selling gangbusters
3DS selling gangbusters

Looks like all consoles will have their best black friday ever by a considerable margin.

Wii is definetly not as big this year, so no.

^_^

Some need to realise that just because one item is sold out doesn't mean it's making a killing. You could find Item A everywhere but Item B is nowhere to be found. If Item B had like 100 in stock but Item A had like 500, Item A could've sold like 400 units while Item B won't have sold more than 100 units.

Anecdotal evidence is still anecdotal and shouldn't be viewed as evidence. Still it's nice to have feedbacks. I saw some places here in Montreal they try to have Black Friday deals but the way they market this "Vendredi Noir"... really?
