Except that the US counts for ~80-85% of the sales in America, especially on Black Friday week. Which means the PS3 beat the 360 that year for Black Friday. Unless you have proof otherwise? I do have this article from VGChartz here. Sure, it's talking all of Americas, but they still illustrates how big PS3 was that year. |
That's not static. Just go look at last years BF Americas numbers
I'm talking strictly US (which is were BF is) but MS announced they sold more on BF (and Nov NPD) and then went on to lose Dec NPD to PS3, so while it was close they say they sold the most on BF. Last year and 07,08 were no contest obviously.
What do you think PS3 is gonna do in the U.S this BF week?

I'm not mad at either of them, I just find it amusing. I'm aware this is an anecdotal thread, I'm just suprised people think just because it is though, they'll extrapolate for the entire country, just seems incredibly pointless to me! |
Then kindly exit the thread.

Here in Canada its rather tame, way busier then usual as people will shop today and especially on the weekend. |
Yeah, only when people lose hockey games right?
I know this is anecdotal evidence thread, but jeez...stop acting like one store alone represents all of Americas of how well that system will perform overall.

Links, please? When you get them, I'm guessing MS was talking about Nov NPD, which is for the whole month. Unless for some reason that year they broke it down for the week of Black Friday. On VGC, where we do break it down by week, the 360 outsold the PS3 every week in Nov '09, except Black Friday week. This accounts for the 360 still being ahead in Nov, even though it lost Black Friday.
Edit: Oh, and as far as your question goes, 1 billion WW. That's right, with a B. But, considering I mentioned 360 in the same sentence, I expect it to do 1 billion, as well. Though, that's just anecdotal, so the 360 may be a flop this BF, too.

Can you parse where anyone is saying that? Or are you trolling as usual?
Which one is it?

Lol, I love how people enter a thread about anectdotal evidence and their thoughts on it, and instead of offering anything to the thread, they decide to critisize people for contributing to the thread. As with Joel's thread, if all you're going to do is offer criticism to posters, without adding anything to the thread, just leave. Also, I could bring up Holiday '09. You know, where BF week the PS3 sold ~486K in Americas, while the 360 only sold ~354K, for a difference of ~132K in the PS3's favor. |
Evidence? for all we know you and other people in this thread could be lying.
I find it funny that many NON Americans are posting here when you have NO CLEAR PRESCRIPTIVE ON BLACK FRIDAY anecdotal or otherwise. GET THE FUCK OUT.
