that may very well be but thats not the reason you just stated for its inaccuracy

On the contrary, it indicates demand for kinect.  Therefore the sales of kinect from March until now may well be higher than thought.  There have been no official Kinect numbers released, so we rely on VGC estimates.   Perhaps those estimates are a bit low.  But they are certainly a lot higher than the zero sales since march that this article is using in its comparison.
