Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I have died twice in the first 4 hours of Skyward Sword

Ey guys. I am playing Skyward Sword and after four hours of game I have died twice. It was exactly in the first boss battle, and I had a fairy in a bottle with me. It has been a long time since the last time I found this kind of difficulties to finish a enemy in Zelda (dark Link in Ocarina of Time). Maybe it's just me and I don't have sword fighting experience enough. Has anybody felt the same with Skyward Sword?

I heard that the game is very challenging

I just wanna play the damn thing lol

Man up.

Love and tolerate.

Use the shield. With it, you can parry all of his attacks and deflect his projectiles back to him. You should have listened to Fi (i think it's her name) at the entrance of that temple. She warned you to not enter without a shield.

This game is no different than the previous Zelda tittles. Every boss has his strategy in order to be defeated, and it's usually related to the item you get in the temple (but in this case, it's just the shield)

I don't want Fi to spoil me the entire game. I really love I've died twice in a Zelda game!

You call a simple warning a spoiler? She does the same role as Navy or Midna, her main function is to warn you about stuff. And i don't even know if you got that warning, but i think you might, since is easy to break the shield and feel cocky because it's a Zelda game. Well, at least that's what i did! :p
So, use a shield and upgrade it if you need. Then go for the boss. Or you can try to beat him without a shield. It's not that hard either i think. You just have to time your attacks well so you can stop him when he charge against you.

This is no Dark Souls. Dying is still meaningless here.

I hope it's a challenging game, there's no point in collecting hearts, bottles, fairies, potions etc if it's going to be a walk in the park like Twilight Princess
