tell me why i came in this thread and was expecting to see only the word "Games" in the OP?

lol

naw im j/k

:)

Sure you are :)

As far as being 360 owners ewe got exacty what we wanted. Halo, Gears, and Forza. The big three. 3rd party games have also been good to us this year.

I would call that a success. Sonys plan to take a bunch of shots in the dark with all these semi successful IP's isn't exactly a winning strategy either but to each their own.

OMG LMAO XD XD XD XD

IT HURTS!! LMFAO

i swear i genuinely didn't think anybody would ACTUALLY respond to that comment LMAO

you really tried to attempt damage control over that comment?? really? REALLY?

notice how none of the other 360 guys responded to that comment

LOL ..my goodness smh

Actually I feel they delivered on all points for me: Pricing (aggressive holiday pricing, and will probably drop price in the wake of a 720 announcement or sometime next year when sales start to slide), Games (Forza, Gears, and the Halo anniversary. Strong 3rd party support), Reliability (newer 360 failure rates are so low, so they've delivered since the Slim launch).

Really all I can ask for now is more games. 2012 is uncertain outside of Halo 4 and The Witcher in terms of console exclusive games that I can think of.

They should work on doing better in EMEAA to as well, to rebound in holiday sales and chip away at the PS3 lead this year. But might be a bit late for that.

It's just that simple.

Nice (lol) response with enough witty put downs without any real input.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Hmmm, I don't agree (yet)

Dashboard needs to launch SOON, and if they find the giftcards arnt working and whatever they have planned for EMEAA isn't working, they need to cut.

It's too late for that.  Store ads for up to the end of the year are already being printed, and commercial slots have been set.

The strong potential for a holiday cut would be all but wasted by near non-existant advertising.  A strongly advertised cut early next year would be better than anything last minute they could whip up for the holidays.

Though I personally think they'll wait til closer to the end of next year to change prices, relying instead on bundles and gift card deals to ride things out.  But at that point they'll have to take into account the launch of the next Xbox.  What price they'll want to sell the 360 at alongside their new console, concurrent marketing, etc. etc.  We don't have enough information on that to make any solid predictions ourselves.

Edit:

I just realized your post is 9 days old, but most of what I've said still generally holds true.

Dashboard updates aren't system sellers, merely refine the experience for existing users. Its a null point when its released.

Cloud applications for game consoles isn't ready yet. If it was, it would be out. Again, it refines the experience, it isn't gonna be a system seller in itself, so no rush. '

I do agree with the lack of price cuts and the sub par bundles....all though the Fable/Reach combo is a sweet deal, plus the MW3 Console was a huge success.

Sure a price cut this holiday would allow MS to widen the gap with PS3 but now im starting to see what MS is thinking. They are in this for profit first and foremost. They haven't dropped the 360s price truly since 2008. 2009 had the Elite replace the discontinued Pro but the price points didn't change. 2010 just saw hardware revisions, cheaper ones to produce at that. This year, 360 isn't the best selling console, but its selling amazingly well with 3 years of no price changes. No doubt MS is raking in extra profit while Sony (as we all know) is bleeding red ink with the PS3 price cut and with the company as a whole.

Their plan as far as I can tell is to rake in as much profit this holiday with the same 360 sku prices (albiet with deals), hope that they still maintain a hardware lead over the PS3 when the holidays are said and done, and in the spring......when console buying is at the years lowest, then drop the price cuts across the board.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

Well, I don't know how it works in the U.S, probably isn't too different in Europe though. I believe Pachter has said MS have the ads already printed/ordered, the second they see sales they're not happy with. I think this is probably even moreso the case in Europe, cos I can't see how else they're going to get a win there (which is what they're aiming for)

What I like about the OP is that he's really calling out MS for taking so long with pulling off the "3 screens and a cloud". It's the key to the future of MS and a potentially amazing experience for consumers.
