Forums - Gaming Discussion - Confirmed: Hiroyuki Ito (Director of FFVI, FFIX, FFXII) still working for Square Enix.

Yes, the news I've been longing to hear since FFXIII came out. God bless the guy who got this info out of Yoshinori Kitase!

Hiroyuki Ito has been missing from game development since 2007 and some FF fans thought he may have left the company. However, Yoshinori Kitase recently confirmed that he is still working for the company despite him not being credited with a creative role on a game since 2007. There's been rumours that he has been secretly making FFXV all these years but that has yet to be confirmed.

Unfortuantely only this information and Minagawas recent comment a few months ago is what we have to go on. Ito is still at the company and Minagawa is still there. i'm willing to beleive that FF15 is in development with those two at the helm.

I would love to see another FF made by the FF12 team. That game has aged surprisingly well with me.

Honestly wouldn't be suprised if FFXV is a E3 2012 announcement. At that time XIII-2 will be out. Versus will be next in the spotlight and we all know how SE needs 5 years before the actual release date to announce the game.

Actually, don't forget that Minagawa showed off a video of Rabanastre rendered in Unreal Engine 3 and using the crowd simulation from Assassin's Creed. He showed that video off in March 2009, which is almost 3 years ago so it could be part of FF15.

I think both FF12 and FF13 had their fair share of problems and merits. the link you showed us also talks about the postmorterm. if we look at FF13-2 there is a massive improvement over FF13. can we imagine if such improvements were made to FF12. i think the results would be phenominal. and i am cautiously optimistic something is in development.

we've seen that Unreal Engine 3 can actully do some pretty amazing stuff, with games like Batman, Enslaved, Gears of War, so i am keen on seeing something next year hopefully.

I'd love to see a town like Rabanastre filled with crowds of people like the towns in Assassin's Creed. That would be so epic!

Hopefully, they will also try and make the game open world like WRPGs and Xenoblade.
