Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii U vs PS4 vs Xbox One FULL SPECS (January 24, 2014)

@CHark... interesting as that essentially proves the original rumors over the more later ones... and keeps them mostly at a lower spec'd result too. Especially PS4.

Seems in line with the rumors. The only odd thing is the IBM processor for Nextbox... if that happen then the PS4 will have a better CPU for games.

Anyway the AMD showed at closed doors the new HD 8950.

Anybody knows what is that event?

From gaf user @thuway (I don't know if he knows what he knows lol)... Durango.

- 32MB eDRAM
- 102 GB/S memory bandwidth.

And some users in gaf are saying the IGN article is "horribly horribly wrong, about everything."

"Durango is 1.23 TF, HSA + Large Cache's + DSPs, 8 GB DDR3 + ES RAM. Add in some special 'sauce' to get it to work better if you code to metal.

Orbis is 1.84 TF, 4 GB GDDR5, and an unknown as of now 4 Steamroller or 8 Jaguar Core unit."

Pulled that data from a thread in GAF. Its a basic summary of the latest info in GAF from all rumors and of course data give by people in the know who are in GAF. However, the PS4 one is a theoretical limit and more than likely won't approach 1.84TF... probably closer to the 1 to 1.2TF area I've considered all along.

EDIT... same info in better detail

PS4 "Orbis"
- AMD x86 3.2GHz APU Solution (Jaguar/Steamroller), 4 cores (2 core pairs), [Higher Clock than X720/Durango]
- Maybe AMD 8000 series GPU solution [Customised Solution Possibly utilising GPU + APU combo]
- 2-4GB GDDR5
- Launch Fall 2013/Early 2014

Explanation: PS4 has a higher clock, but less cores and is using an APU solution (CPU & GPU elements combined onto a single chip). The PS4 has less RAM but is using faster GDDR ram, so the overall performance should be a wash.

Xbox 720 "Durango"
- AMD x86 Jaguar 1.6GHZ 8-Core [Targeting one core being dedicated for OS tasks]
- AMD 8000 series GPU
- ESRAM on the GPU (unknown amount)
- 8GB Ram DDR3, [1.5GB of RAM likely reserved for the operating system]
- Launch 2013

How is compiling a list of rumors "hocum"? These rumors, at least the ones presented in OP, are from solid sources... many of which have also been used and still used in GAF and the earliest ones were just now confirmed by AMDs recent lawsuit.

Who did you think have the most close spec rumor for Nextbox until now?

Two new conflicting rumors...

Next-Gen: Xbox 720 Will Be More Powerful Than PS4 - Report

Showtime: PS4 rumoured at 1.84TF, Xbox 720 at 1.23TF

I don't know witch is more reliable but the 3.2 or 4.2 TF talk is bullshit.
